How did Jarrett end up all the way back down with Gastonia? I was getting the impression he was close to getting a major league shot.
Unfortunately Zach was released by the Orioles after spring training. Looks like the O’s wanted to get the higher rated younger prospects more time at the higher levels and got rid of the older guys. Zach wasn’t drafted by this GM either and they didn’t have as much $ invested in him as they do some of the younger guys.
Hopefully he tears it up in the Atlantic League and gets another shot in affiliated ball.
