What I really didn’t understand before Tulsa’s game winning free throws: why was a hobbled Patterson whom had just returned from an injury guarding their obvious option in Haggerty, a guy who draws fouls better than anyone on that team?

Lame comment. Fearne getting inked as our coach has nothing to do with losing two games on the road. Playing on the road is tough.
This was a game we should have won, yes.
We have also won games this year being down 20 twice.
Let’s get them back on track by showing up for next rwo home games. I know I will be there.

Go Niners

Sucks to see bench guys like braswell and JT stepping up their games recently and the team actually play worse. I thought getting some better contributions off the bench was the boost we needed to be a true conference tournament contender, but the Ws aren’t following.

Igor being in a bit of a slump recently has been felt. Hopefully he works himself out of it before the conference tournament.

Need Reiber to actually contribute more than warm body minutes as well when DJ is getting a breather.

I’m surprised nobody has brought up that the margin of defeat in last night’s game was a truly lucky 30 feet bank shot. The team really needs this week off.

That wasnt a 30’ shot !!!
That was an ugly ass 30’ throw…

I think this team is running up against it’s talent level late in the season. Lack of shooting talent and teams adjusting to us has brought us back down closer to the mean. We have Igor, DJ, and Patterson and if one is struggling it us hard for the rest of our pieces to pick up that slack. Hopefully this week off will get us back to rested and healthy and back to the level we must play at to be successful.

Between the Mempiss bigs and Haggerty I dont know what a travel is anymore…

I don’t think it is a talent issue against most teams. It has been an effort issue of late. Too many guys standing around watching and thinking someone else will grab a rebound. 2nd chance points are killing us. Not stopping the dribble drive. Etc. Etc…

The officials didn’t cost us the game last night but you are right. Haggerty literally took 6 steps and hopped on that one drive without dribbling. I have taken fewer steps going to my mailbox. My mailbox is 60 feet from my front door. Haggerty is a great player but that is WAY too much leeway by the officials. And yes that shot into the rafters was ridiculous but he made it.

Agree the team really needs the week off. We were running on fumes in both second halves this week. You could tell by how many shots came up short when we missed. I also think Patterson is hurting. I still don’t understand his pass at the end of the game. He is our guy. I hope we get back on track this week. Despite the past two games it feels good to care about Niner hoops again.

Frustrating to be up double digits and start playing not to lose. I woulda pounded the ba lol down low all 2nd half

With the make up of this league we should be pounding the ball inside against everyone. Mempiss might be the exception but still would go at them.

We need to work on our passes into the post. We’ve definitely lost some of the crispness we had earlier in the season.

Agree. Good post. Let’s not lose faith here people. We can still get back on track, get one of those top four seeds and win this thing.

I think the issue is they play loose when they build up these leads and then they get tight.

They have to find a way to thread the needle between those two.

Let’s support the team and be there for them next Saturday at Halton.

A win against USF puts us right back on track and would be a huge win.

We can do this!

Agree, I thought Haggerty traveled about every time he went to the rim.

Oh. Also. If Garcia does not have the game of his life including future Y games and over 40 league games we secure the road W.

Of course he had the game if his life. Seems we are always good for giving up career highs to players that are otherwise forgettable multiple times a year. Doesn’t matter who the coach is or how good the team is. It’s a Niner tradition.

He showed the promise here, just Rons system sucked and he left. If Aaron had him he would florish !

FWIW, Garcia had a 23 pt game earlier this season during OOC play, so he has filled it up on occasion. Anyway, no surprise that he’s not their primary offensive focus with PJ Haggerty (20.2 ppg, 3.7 apg), Cobe Williams (12.7 ppg), and Keaston Willis (12.5 ppg) being the top three scorers. During his JUCO stint last year at Salt Lake CC, Garcia averaged 11.8 ppg and 6.8 ppg with a season high of 25 pts (inc six 3s), so he’s a solid roll player whose strengths lean to the defensive side.
