I remember those days too but we can have 2 thoughts in our head at once. The first being that we arent bad, nor are gmu and ucf. The second being that this is not even close to good enough

We could get there again but it will take a lot of work, good decision making, and commitment to getting there. Mikeās shown me zero that makes me think heās willing to even try.
Thereās only one thought that matters. Are we good enough to make the ncaa tourney? Weāre not and it obvious. At least to me.

I dont disagree. Im not taking a moral victory but again, just protesting the idea that we have only played bad teams, or that we are bad.
We definitely arenāt good enough right now to make the tournament. I guess I foolishly hold out hope that we can get good enough by the end of the season.

Libertyās ok. The rest arenāt.
I donāt think this years team is bad, but I also donāt think we are really building anything positive for the future right now and this years team isnāt good enough to make the tournament. We lose Igor, who is our best player.
Threadgill is who he is at this point. If he hasnāt made a leap by now, he isnāt going to. Folkes looks like the same guy. A guy that looks electric at times, but still makes boneheaded plays left and right. Rolf apparently isnāt good enough to see the floor. Braswell barely plays, but heās gone after this year any way. Reiber looks like a role player at best. Young also must not be good enough to see any play time.
The Russian has a long way to go, but I do like some of the things Iāve seen from him. Heās made some nice passes into the post. Heās no aly in that regard yet but heās a better defender at least.
Jackson is a better defender than Aly as well, but heās a black hole on offense. Takes a ton of shots and hits very few of them.
The only player returning next year that I can place confidence in is Patterson.
Just not a lot to be excited about, and I canāt imagine we are getting any serious looks from recruits since they have no idea if our coach will be here next year or not.
This program was already on life support but Ron and Mike put a pillow over itās face.
Braswell actually only player who will have exhausted all of his eligibility after this season.

Milicic is progressing nicely. Believe he is a piece to build around for this season and next. Between him, an improving Dishon Jackson (just needs to play to get back in prime shape), and if our guards are both solid, we could be pretty decent this year. Lotta ifs.
Thoight igor was a senior this year, my mistake. That makes me feel a little better, but if he graduates, he can transfer again correct?
Liberty is better than okay. They are very good and ucf is solid at least.
Yep, Liberty may actually be a better team than last yearās ASUN regular season champs and NIT participant even after losing 3-time ASUN POY and all-time Liberty and ASUN leading scorer Darius McGhee.
I guess very good means different things to different people.
My meaning by that is this. Could they have beaten us with Basden and Withers? I say no and we only won one game in the dance. Top 32 in the nation isnāt bad but I donāt consider it āvery goodā. Semantics I suppose
No. They are objecively very good. Undefeated with quality wins. Im not happy about the state of our program but i dont know how you could argue that they arenāt.
Yes, they could have beaten those teams. We could have beaten them too but those teams lost to way worse teams than liberty. SLU comes to mind.

Donāt mean to disparage Liberty. Theyāre ok. About like UNCA in my eyes and I like A. But the truth is they good for the level they are, they got curb stomped by UCLA in the tourney last year. We can agree to disagree.
I mean, if you think them and unca are comparable then im not sure what to say. They are probably going to be ranked very soon.
Asheville has a guy that may be an All American. Drew Pember. Probably get drafted. Watch them if you get a chance. Theyāre not bad.
Not saying theyre bad. Whats amazing is that guy averaged 0.7ppg as a freshman at UT. Talk about improving
