2023 49er Football Week #13 Charlotte at USF 11/25 7:30 PM ESPNU

Your boy Mike. Make sure wherre you know where to direct all the blame.

He’s not a pretender, he’s an infiltrator and a imposter.

Miller should be fired by Monday if we are a real FBS FB program. Hell he should have been fired at halftime.

USF defense is ranked 129 in FBS and averages giving up 38 points a game! It is last years Will Healy/ Marcus West defense and we look like this against it in the final game of the year. Our best and only effective play was a Green Bay Packers 1968 power sweep. WTF. We look like a 3A 6 - 6 HS FB offense. It is a joke.

So from his statement is Biff on the road recruiting or walking away?!?!

I am glad Biff got to showcase his cut off sleeves and run the dang ball hat one last time for the sponsors. Oh…the only time we were effective on offense is when we were in the hurry up no huddle on the first drive or just your basic B10 smash mouth run the ball downhill team we were promised. Really no difference…

Someone has to pay for these sins. Dont care who it is. Hill, Biff, Miller, all of the above.

Transfer portal for QB???

Why?

We have Ivey.

He thinks Johnson has talent and potential.

We have Carson Black coming off the red shirt.

We have Purdie coming in as a freshman.

If he’s looking for a starter in the portal does that mean Carson Black isn’t the answer we thought he would be?

Or is he recruiting over him in error?

Is he looking for a solid backup? (I hope this is it).

He doesn’t know if he will be back?

That sounds like he is wavering on his commitment to the job.

I think he didn’t realize how hard this was going to be.

If he has that lack of commitment, then hit the road.

Do the right thing and quit now before we waste any more time.

I have little faith this staff knows how to evaluate or develop a good QB given they played five different QBs this season.

My boy Mike? Dude drop that shit. I’ve been critical of him when I feel appropriate. The difference is I don’t have what ever personal grudge you have. I don’t know what he said that you took personal. He’s done good things and he’s done bad. Right now after two gimmick hires in football it’s showing.

The chapel hill shit is about the dumbest thing I’ve heard. That AD jobs at chapel hill and Clemson im sure are his dream jobs and he’s absolutely not following some secret plan - because it is making those two jobs impossible. What is happening is he is sucking at football hires, has mismanaged basketball and has failed to land any new major donor or sponsor. He isn’t doing it on purpose. That’s on him. There is no light blue boogie man.

I’ve just never got my panties in a wad because of something he said.

That play call at the ten yard line is the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard of ANYONE do.

Is my sarcasm meter broken? Ivey and Johnson should never play another down for us. Not if we are serious about winning. Neither Black nor Purdie have played a down of college football. Was Black even practicing at all this season? With very, I mean very, few exceptions, you do not win games with a freshman / inexperienced QB. We need someone who can walk in and not just win the QB job from this group (low bar), but is actually well ahead of all of them. We need what Skip Holtz used to get regularly at La Tech - a proven P5 QB unhappy with his playtime because he plays for an SEC, etc school where they are constantly recruiting over blue chip guys. If he could talk those guys into coming to play in shitty Ruston, LA, then there Is no excuse for us not getting a guy like that.

He landed guys like this:

Which springboarded his ability to land a guy like this:

Which allowed Holtz to do this during his run as head coach:

After a 4–8 first season in Ruston, he rattled off six straight winning seasons and bowl victories, topping out with a 10–3 2019 campaign.

If you paid at attention to his teams, they were almost all offense. Their defense was marginal, so they won shootouts.

Heck even after Holtz left, they still got guys like this, again in that nowhere that is Ruston:

and this:

My question is: why are things that other teams regularly do, with far less resources than we have, so consistently difficult for us to achieve? Why do we have so many excuses? Why are we so gimmicky instead of having substance?

It is year 1. Biff might be a flop. Im not saying he definitely works out and ive seen a lot that has mr question his ability but it is year 1 for him. 10 plus startersout does matter whether you like it or not. Lets recruit strong. If we look like this or anything like this next season then ill be there with you.

We absolutely need to get a starting caliber QB in the portal to compete for the job.

The answer isn’t Ivey. Let the rest compete.

For our sake, we better hope he doesn’t walk or get fired. Charlotte would then be the worst job in all of college football. My hope is that he gets more good players, they stay healthy, and we continue to make progress.

Why are we willing to give Biff another year, but need to see more from Fearne?

Charlotte wouldn’t be the worst job in college football. There is definitely multiple low-mid D1 offensive or defensive coordinators who would take the job in a heart beat.

We are still paying Will Healy. Although Biff’s salary is lower than other AAC coaches we aren’t going to take the financial hit. Most schools don’t fire a football coach after one year and give the coach time to build something.

Most athletic directors also don’t hire one dimensional high school coaches.

Biff may be one dimensional, that’s why you hire dynamic coordinators.

I am not disagreeing with your thoughts, they are your thoughts, I will say, the other team that did a COMPLETE teardown and rebuild like we did, didn’t fair well either, CO. They were even able to get mostly P5 players and some starters to come on over and they had the same problems we did. It’s year 1. Let’s continue to upgrade skillsets, get some/any depth, speed at skill positions and an experienced QB. I can’t see any evidence of the CO fanbase screaming to fire Dion and his preseason hype was far greater than Biff’s. Let’s see how this story plays out for a bit.
