Biff keeps saying he made a big mistake not calling a timeout when it was fourth and 4 in the Maryland game. I really donāt think it made that much of a difference in the game. Iām not confident we could have got the first down in that spot.
The blown overturned catch call was a bigger issue than the 4th down
This is Biff learning. I like to see him admit to mistakes and understanding he needs to be more aggressive in those situations.
Yeah. These starters need to suck it up and play with painā¦if able, and find whatever chip they need to play physically dominant. If they do not dominate both offensive and defensive lines of scrimmage Saturday, they WILL LOSE AND BE 0-2.
Strongly agree
I think Biff is trying to get trust with players by falling on the sword when they lose, but giving them credit when they win. I like it.
Biff called out our QB big time. I donāt think Jalon Jones will let anyone take his QB1. He needs to prove it in practice.
I also think Biff is sending a message to the others that job security only comes by performing and most importantly , by winning. Now Biff is making them win on Monday through Friday to play on Saturday.
What I want to see from Jones is every pass he read option 1 or run, or check down or run. I want him to trust his eyes and his legs, and we in runs, itās to daylight without hesitation.
Agree with the overturn. We had momentum that was stalling a bit. The long catch was huge and a nonsensical overturn. And quickly following by our targeting call which was a lethal blow. The wind was out of our sails at that point. Canāt let something similar happen again
Not complaining. Iām glad to have a coach with accountability
Football has become a lot more QB/WR friendly and I donāt believe we have the talent at those positions right now so I believe it is condensing the playbook. But it will wear down the talent on our defense if the offense canāt stay on the field and produce.
We really, really need to win this game. We still have momentum after being up at the half at Maryland but a loss at home, even to an undefeated GSU team could be devastating to that momentum.
GSU and Charlotte have similar philosphies: run the ball, stop the run. GSUās offense is playing better than the Niners, but GSUās defense seems mixedā¦played poorly against Rhode Island, but well against UConn. I give the edge to GSU at the moment offensively. Darrin Grainger is an elusive QB, decent in the pass game (maybe better than decent) and Marcus Carroll is an excellent RB. GSUās receivers seem to be better than Charlotteās at the moment. Charlotteās offense canāt have another week of eight straight pointless drives. My sense is that defensively, the edge goes to Charlotte. So it will be a game of strength against strength.
I feel good about the Niners defense, not as good about the offense but hopefully the strides Biff mentioned in his presser are going to be evident on Saturday.
Iām conflicted, as is always the case with this game (a degree from one, a job at the otherā¦as well as season tickets! Got my commemorative coin to prove it!). But, in the end, I think the Niners need this game moreā¦go Ninthers. Oy vay
How are ticket sales going for this game?
But if you notice, there are very few check downs. What concerns me is that lack of separation our Wideouts are getting.
The QB talent is there but its difficult to showcase when you are in 13 and 14 personnel.
