The turnovers have got to be limited. if we play this style of ball we can not have them at the current rate. If we just got a FG out of the INT drive against Maryland weâre down 1 score halfway through the 4th. The game is still in play. We got a horrid INT that ended the game.
You can see the talent and leadership skills but heâs got to do a better job protecting the ball if weâre going to get to 6 wins. Yes the receivers might not be getting clean catches and good separation but weâre turning it over twice per game even with the limited numbers of passes.
Hopefully that improves Saturday because weâre in a world of hurt if we lose the TO battle.
Agreed. Also, like I wrote before the game, Maryland was pretty damn good last year with 3 or 4 losses I noted being elite football teams. Whoâs to know right now that they did or didnât get significantly better this year. We had a real chance for an upset win, but our guys didnât quite finish like they should have, or ran out of juice.
I donât expect Georgia State to be at Marylandâs level of talent and depth of talent. We are also at home and we should be improving in all phases after each game; more so than most teams we play. Itâs football, and none of that means the 49ers wonât lose by 1 or get blown out.
I do believe sitting Jalon would be a huge mistake. If he turns the ball over twice early or even once foolishly, then I guess. But not starting him or putting a short leash mentality out there is probably not going to improve their chances of winning.
When a head coach commits to a running offense with a dominant defense, that also means he commits to punts establishing winning field position. I was kind of troubled with the halftime interview that we needed to throw more. Obviously he saw Maryland stacking against the run, but with a 14 point lead, I would have doubled down with more runs even if it resulted in more punts. But I ainât the coach and he knows way more about his team and their opponent than I could ever

We can win this game. Iâm going to JRS expecting a win and will be very disappointed if we lose.
But if we lose Iâm not going to jump off the cliff. To early for that in my mind.
Saturday is a must win for the program to maintain momentum and achieve this years goals. Lose here and dreams of a quick flip are likely off the table. Doesnât mean we wonât turn it around just means the rebuilding of the program will take more than a single year.

Most of my white shirts are stained by sauce, ketchup, bike grease or fish blood, or any combination of it.
I donât wear a lot of white for similar reasonsâŚ
