Joe seasick, just being facetious. Just pointing out you’re using the same argument to justify divergent opinions based upon how you feel about each staff.
I’ll be out cheering on the baseball team as well ( I’m guessing it’s another team you won’t see in person.)
But if you bash Ron for the very same reasons (W & Ls and post season tourneys will always), shouldn’t you hold all the coaches to the same standards?
Now I fully believe that we’ve got the right baseball coach and if he stays, will over the course of his time here, he’ll win more than he loses, with lots of post season appearances and maybe even get us to the 2nd weekend for the 1st time in program history.
But to just pick at you and play devil’s advocate, he’s suposed to be a pitcher’s coach and yet it’s the pitching staff that is currently struggling.
There is something to be said to also playing some games that help build up a team’s (pitchers) confidence and get them some W’s especially heading in a much tougher conference. It’s part of the fine ballance a staff needs to make. Make it too hard and you have to many loses and the team loses confidence.
I agree though that the basketball schedule needs to improve, just so we call all see where we truly stack up and the players learn what they need to work on to get better.
I hope that wasn’t a shot at me…cause im watching and posting during all games…i like to post updates during the games, because i know not all posters are as crazy as I am…to watch or attend virtually every game we play in all the major sports.
Down 8-3 in the bottom of the 5th now. 2 on base and no outs. Our normally reliable defense is letting us down today. 3 infield errors already. We had only 2 all year coming into this weekend…correction, 5 errors now today and down 9-3. We cant seem to field anything cleanly today.
Some of us have ADD, so anything posted that won’t fit on my phone screen usually results in nothing being read.
I have faith in this team. I have watched them l. They are good players. Baseball is a tough game filled with hot steaks and slumps. The baseball gods are testing them. That is all. The wins will come if they stick together and keep working. Same for Coach. He scheduled what he aspires this baseball program to become. I think their strength of schedule is like top 50?
VT is good, but today shows we have a ways to go. We do not look good at any phase of the game today. Lost 12-4. We are now 5-7 with UNCW up next…in Kannapolis.
VT is probably a legit top 10 team, but while the rest of our schedule has not been bad, it hasnt been a murderers row either. We won 3 of 4 against Ball State and beat UNCA. Army beat us 2 of 3, i know theyre Patriot League favorites but they are only 5-4 as of today against a mediocre schedule. We lost at Clemson, who is also below .500.
