We will be facing last year’s CUSA Freshman of the Year LHP Blake Morgan tonight. I don’t thikn we saw him last year. Should be a good one.
Now this is the pitching we were all hoping for. Hudepohl with 9 strikeouts through 4 innings!! Lead 6-1 middle of 4th.
8-2 good guys heading to B6.
10-2 through 7. Hudepohl with 13 strikeouts through 7.
What a performance by Hudepohl so far. 16 strikeouts through 8. Will they let him finish??? I hope so!
School record 17 strikeouts for Hudepohl. Niners with a big and much needed 10-2 win !!!
See y’all at the tailgate tomorrow. All are welcome. Let’s get the series.
That’s what I am talking about!
Fisher staying on fire as well
Uggg…can we put Hudepohl in again. Down 5-0, still T2, with just 1 out. Kramer looks awful…hit after hit…he is now being pulled. Lasted only 4 outs and gives up 6 hits.
So much for gaining momentum from game 1. Down 9-1 in the 7th.
Not much positive to pull from todays game.
Let’s go win a series tomorrow.
Yeah, that game was very disappointing. Looked alot like game 3 at VT.
Any reaaon we didnt play 2 yesterday, knowing what was coming today?
Exactly what i was wondering. … .game 3 now canceled.
Probably one or both coaches prefer to save their pitching and the weather is a good excuse.
Speculation.
Pretty sure the coaches discussed a DH but decided against it for whatever reason.
There’s a lot of mutual respect between Woody and Finwood. I’d say that’s why the series has continued. We are due to return to Norfolk next season. If you recall, we were in town the weekend they had the memorial service for Finwood’s late wife and our staff worked with the schedule that weekend to make it work for both sides. Anyway, the discussion about Saturday came down to two 7s, two 9s, or play it as scheduled. I’ve never met a coach that really likes 7 inning games. And playing an 18 inning marathon the weekend before conference play wasn’t in either party’s best interest. So, it was a mutually agreed up business decision. The rain came and the game was cancelled. Both teams move on with the ability to grab a game later in the season if the opportunity presents itself.
This has happened before. In fact, we had it help us in the conference standings by being a half game up at the end of the year. Anyway, that’s how it went down.
