Bye Ronnie

No words.

I think that’s the sixth one possession loss this year. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

It seems that we are always petrified in close situations at the end of games. We have lead shoes as the seconds tick away.

MTSU 6-0 run to finish out the game.
Crazy the amount of minutes we go each game with no points and end up losing by a couple.

How does a Coach coach a game with his hands in his pockets. Seriously, is he medicated?!?!?

It went in, but it was actually a terrible shot. Hed probably miss it 9 times out of 10…but he hit the one that mattered.

As usual we don’t score a point for a long stretch and lose the game… please fire sanchez

You cannot allow the player to take a 3. Better to let him go by you and tie the game vs. giving up a 3 pt shot.

Was thinking the same thing.

He seems more like a life coach than a basketball coach.

And what sucks is he’s probably a very fine and honorable man. He just doesn’t have what we need in our coach.

He should do TED Talks or get on the motivational speaker circuit.

Is there a post-game interview?

Clean sweep by top 4:

Our offensive drought killed us and yes MTSU hit two big threes at the end. My questions is, being down by 1 point with 13 seconds left, why are we catching the ball in the backcourt with no urgency? Why not try to get a shot off within 5-7 seconds and then if we miss we have time to foul to potentially go down by 3 to have another shot to tie it. It’s not like we had a good shot drawn up and ready to go. It’s almost like we were playing like it was a tie game.

It’s because we hired an Assistant Coach from a big name school that had recent success with no real proof that he had much impact on their success. It was and still is the Bennett show and was never the Sanchez show. We need a coach that has head coaching experience at the collegiate level. The fact that there are multiple generations that have not seen success in basketball is simply depressing and it’s damn near impossible to grow a brand that most that give a damn or the ones that we want to give a damn don’t know what success is. I was at Charlotte during the mid to late 90’s time frame and it was freaking electric. I still and will always remember those days. Our younger counterparts will never have that excitement and memories and thats unfortunate. Hill needs to steer the program away from the iceberg soon or we will just be a school in NC that has a basketball program.

Hiring an assistant isn’t a bad way to go. Any hire is the roll of the dice though. Alan was an assistant, but it was a terrible hire because he was the last assistant on the bench. He handled next to nothing. Ron was the AHC and lead assistant on the #1 team in one of the more difficult leagues that won against teams routinely more talented. He was on the short list of many ADs and widely considered a prime candidate to be a HC soon. Mike made the right hire - it just hasn’t worked. Will was a hire you can put on Mike.

We have tried young assistant twice and coach from outside college once. The two best coaches we have had in this span were Odom - the son of a very good HC and Fancher a former HC. Both were thrust into pretty bad positions. Odom still had Major around so he couldn’t make it his own and Fancher took over a team that was one step away from mutiny.

What we haven’t tried since Bobby - is hiring a guy with considerable HC experience at a collegiate level. Given Bobby’s was a lower level, but I absolutely think that is what we have to do. Get either a younger guy that has been the guy at a lower level or an older retread that has seen significant success.
