2023 Spring Game observations

I like that dude as our QB1

Yup he certainly looks the part. I know it’s just the Spring Game but I feel much better about our QB position after Saturday.

I absolutely loved the booing of the chapel hill guy. Refused to take off his shirt for a free Niner one and finally left the tailgate.

Where is that? That should be a fixture somewhere!

Younger guy walked into our tailgate and was met by a cascade of boos. Had baby blue chapel hill shirt on and a chapel hill hat. Then a chant started of take it off take it off take it off. He was offered not 1 but 2 niner shirts. He declined both and was continued to be booed. He finally walked away to cheers.

Now normally I pride myself in our tailgate being open to all - even visiting fans AND we never ask for a dime or tell people they have to chip in. If someone offers its always appreciated but never expected. This is the first time I can remember someone being booed out. We have had lots of people change shirts, we have welcomed App fans, Duke fans and other visiting teams - but this was a bit different and absolutely hilarious.

To be fair, I wear Niner green 24/7 when I visit other campuses for any occasion. I would hope this individual received a fair trial. :grinning:

I would expect to be booed wearing Charlotte gear to an App football game we aren’t playing in or going to a Davidson game that does not involve us decked out in green.

Unless we’re playing I won’t wear my Charlotte stuff to another campus. We go to UNCA games and I bought a Bulldog pullover to wear there.

Same with NC St and Clemson. My kids went there so I have a couple of shirts and such.

Well, good

Yeah if I go to another school I wear whoever I am withs school and a charlotte hat or neutral.

I wouldn’t ever go to a CH, Davidson or App game that we are not involved in.

The CHeat guy was a friend of a friend at our tailgate. He was a good guy. I gave him hell at ours for coming in a CHeat hoodie. I offered him a tee we cut off in honor of Biff too, but no dice. He was a good sport though and we all welcomed him in anyway. Shared our whiskey with him too.

In reality, it is kind of dumb to wear another schools tee at a Spring game when that team is playing itself and not your team. Oh well, he did go to CHeat so he can’t be the brightest bulb in the package.

That atmosphere in the horseshoe on Saturday matches any pregame I’ve ever experienced here, it was probably better. The vibes were off the charts, and there was probably only 5 or 6000 people tailgating max

It doesn’t take that many when they are centralized to create an great atmosphere. I had someone with me who hasn’t been to a game in a while and they’re were like wow.

I had a lot of fun Saturday.

At least he went to CH. That’s more than a lot of people wearing their gear can say.

I think most of the Gold Lot level donors would appreciate their own private lot with a golf cart ride to and from the stadium gates.

I think. Maybe.

That is what I have been trying to tell them for 10 years.

Some of us oldsters can still throw down. I don’t need that golf cart yet. Cheers!
