This pack line defense and Princeton offense system is a dying breed and needs to be replaced or at least tweaked. Iām not sure if Fearne ran it in Australia. If he did something different there he needs to go back to it and try it here. This mess aināt working.
Would like to see analytics of success of this type of offense. I know UVA and Richmond run it and UVA won a Natty(fluke in my opinion) I know itās frustrating to defend but itās really frustrating to watch.
Based on Fearnesā press conference he believes it works. I donāt believe Fearne will change much.
With the player personnel we had this year, I highly doubt that any other offense/defense would have been any better. We simply did not have good enough players to be successful with any style of play.
I agree we had very little talent on the roster this season. But last season we had a center and forward who went on to be major contributors on top 25 teams. We had a point guard who went on to start and play significant minutes at a B10 team. And with that talent we couldnāt win a conference tournament game and really werenāt that good with the exception of a 12 game stretch in Jan and early Feb. Look back at all of the talent weāve had from Young to Brice to Aly and then Igor, Dishon and Patterson. And still never accomplished anything to speak of with it. Sorry this is in the wrong thread but i think our system limits the success of the players and team. With this staff in the current climate we will most likely never again have a team as talented as we had last season and we couldnāt even get to 20 wins.
Agree that Igor has been a significant contributor for the Vols but wouldnāt say that about DJ at Iowa State.
Yes, LuāCye started for Minnesota but he was basically a last minute āhome townā plug-in when another player unexpectedly ditched the Gophers. He did look better down the stretch after a poor start but in the end couldnāt prevent Ben Johnson from being fired.
Yep, DePaul was crap and has been for a while. Demons seem to have made the right choice in Chris Holtmann to turn things around. An 11 game improvement from 3 wins last season to 14 this year, though still a lot of work to do in the Big East.
Okay maybe significant contributor was too much, but he started 31 of 33 games and averaged almost 9 points and over 5 rebounds for a team that has been top 10 in the country for most of the year. In my opinion looking back we underachieved with the talent we had last season.
Sixth leading scorer is what it is. Not saying he doesnāt contribute and happy heāll get to experience the NCAAT but Cyclones are no longer among the teams being discussed as likely to make it to San Antonio. Of course, gotta play the games and we saw what NC State did last year.
How can you support the continued and relentless failures and embarrassments by Judy Rose and Mike Hill? Itās not like they never had my support. This shit show of a basketball program needs to stop. I am not the only one who stopped funding failure
