Cats are beatable but need everyone to show up and show out.
What’s Rosado’s problem?
Knee injury.
We’ve been playing poorly and against schools we’ve never heard of before. That’s part of why people aren’t showing up.
Playing against schools we never heard before even though we have played them before.
No argument about the poor play.
I am a student at the school. I am sharing the sentiment of the students. We showed up for the ECU game (and I camped for it) because we all know of the school. I have never once thought of Presbyterian even if we have played them before.
It’s part of why the conference is important. People have heard of ECU, USF, Tulane, Memphis, so it creates curiosity for unknown schools in the conference like Wichita State. 5 schools in this conference are schools we’ve been playing for what seems like forever, so they’re familiar after a couple of years.
TBH, I wouldn’t think of PC much if it wasn’t my father’s alma mater.
This is also why I have the argument for playing Queens. Because people that go to this school have family members that attended Queens, or at the very least, have actually heard of the school before.
It’s also why I was saying we should only prioritize scheduling opponents that people actually know and have some regional prominence.
I hate to break it to this forum, but we are in fact a no-name school. We are irrelevant. The athletics at this school have been irrelevant since 2005, which is nearly as old as I am. Not a single family member of mine had heard of this school before I started attending here. My friends and family were all shocked to hear UNCC was even D1. Everyone thought we were maybe D2 if anything.
The rebrand was important because the new logo fits the bill for nationally and regionally prominent teams. Football scheduling has been near perfect since the rebrand. The win against Duke was massive. The move to this conference with schools people have actually heard of was important.
Even if we lose by 30 points to NC State or whatever, it means something because people will show up in-person. Our logo, our brand, our players, and our everything get exposure. I just think some people think much too highly because they were around when we had teams that were ranked.
I’d be fine with playing Queens too. Like Davidson and Presbyterian, a historically small Carolinas college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.
As did my father, my mother also attended a Presby school, though her undergrad alma mater Flora MacDonald College in Red Springs no longer exists after merging in 1958 with Presbyterian Junior College in Maxton to become what is now St. Andrews University in Laurinburg.
Interesting thing about SAU and UNC Charlotte is that both schools employed the same architect - A.G. Odell Jr. of Charlotte - to create the first master plans for each campus.

I have been a while but I just learned a lot from that post. Thanks for sharing.
Presbyterian is not that unknown to Charlotte. The ‘57 and 58’ Charlotte College Owls teams I was on played Presbyterian Jr College. For some reason, I thought they were a military school but that was a long time ago and the old brain doesn’t always work properly.
Looks like a military academy operated on the former campus of Presbyterian Junior College after the latter merged with Flora MacDonald to create St. Andrews and relocated to a new campus in Laurinburg. Like Davidson at the time, PJC was all-male. Likewise, FMC and Queens were then all-female.

And speaking of all female schools, I’m old enough to remember when Winthrop fell into that category. A classmate of mine at North Meck HS was a member of the very first Winthrop men’s basketball team after the school went co-ed in the 1970s.
Bring back the old North South doubleheader with
Charlotte, Davidson, Queens and Withrop as a holiday tournament.
Still a half to play but West Georgia (0-10) might finally get their very first D-I victory today. Wolves lead Tennessee Tech 49-32.

Loyola Chicago injury could be the difference between the Ramblers being the fav or not in Hawaii. Jayden Dawson is 2nd leading scorer (12 ppg) and a top defender. A potential Loyola meeting with Niners would occur in 3rd round.
