5-7 and 4-4 in conference…loss to Memphis looms large, but I also have to remember that we’re 3 missed FGs from 3-9…disappointed but happy at the same time. That was a wild finish, just as every win was this season, except for ECU. A win is a win…good, bad, and the ugly. Here’s the thing too about missing both FGs…the second one was an even worse miss, pulled left even more than the first because he was so much closer.
Not sure how I’d feel if Brewster is offered the job…love his passion, by all accounts he’s a top-notch recruiter…but not sure that beating these two teams is enough, more because I don’t know who else Hill has been talking to…If it’s Brewster, I’ll be fine with that too.
Im happy we won. 5-7 looks better to recruits but im not happy being 5-7 and im incredibly anxious about this hire, especially since we are about to lose most of our roster
If its brewster, we should all be very upset because it means hill struck out with every candidate we considered. I like brew, dont get me wrong but we need to go in a new direction
I’m not sure I’d say Hill struck out…one never knows how negotiations play out…a negotiation is to arrive at a conclusion both parties agree is right. It’s just as possible that the candidate(s) struck out, made unreasonable demands, etc.
I do believe there is a lot of serious interest in the job…but because I’m a sap, I’ll support the team whoever is hired. I want this program to finally reach the potential we all think it should…whoever leads it. I’ve supported every hire until the product on the field forced me not to support.
Your last two posts do a nice job of clarifying your comments. I think we all feel similarly. If it is Brew I hope he knocks it out of the park. Hoping we go in a new direction also. I do love some of our players that have been around for a while. Would love to see Ivey, Rutledge, Wilson , Wiliford and others back. I am sure SOME of the players are more anxious than any of us. I think ECU made a short sighted decision. I hope we do a serious search and hire the best candidate.
Agree, not really sure expansion is needed here or for any program not in the Top 20.
Saw a lot of empty seats as I wast scanning through some games this weekend.
I think we sold out every game except the Halloween game and Saturday. At one point we were 105% of capacity. We need to get to at least 25-27k along with suites to make money off football. Suites will all be sold to hopefully uptown corp companies.
A ton of stadiums had thousands of open seats yesterday. If we were talking adding 20k yeah that be dumb, but we are talking 3k premium seats and a cool ass tower. Has to get done.
