I would much rather face Temple then SMU obviously so very happy today. We have a great chance to get a win tonight and move on to the semi-finals.
Honestly, it doesnât matter that much who we were going to playâŚit was either going to be a tough defensive minded SMU team that beat us once already, or a red hot Temple team playing at a higher level than they have all season.
Either way, how long our season is extended is entirely dependent on whether or not we bring focus and effort the rest of the way. Iâm looking forward to tonight. Letâs see what the team is made of.
Really good? Decent
Temple will no doubt be remembering their loss to us, at home, down by only 3 points with 15 seconds left. Not sure the specifics of how the officiating was at the end of the game, but I do remember feeling like we barely stole that win.
My hope is that our fresh legs will prevail though.
Itâs nice that they are all on plus for those whoâve paid for it all season but donât have cable.
I am by no means a fan of ECU, but they are not getting any good calls. USF is playing as physical as ECU, but the calls are going one way.
USF just went up 73-46. ![]()
Beat down.
USF is having an all time greatest season for its program. Setting records left and right.
At the tournament nobody seems to care to attend. Those empty seats are a very bad look.
Hard to argue youâre a power conference if no one attends your tournament
I was trying to see what the attendance has been like in the past but I canât find any hard numbers since 2019. The crowds have definitely been sparse so far.
How many of our conference buddies are within reasonable driving distance?
Id be curious what the average conference tournament attendance is.
If your teams sucks you likely arenât going.
If itâs more than a 5/6 hr drive you likely are nit going.
If itâs in a sucky city you likely arenât going.
With the new far flung conferences it isnât like the old days where basically any fanbase could get there easily inna days drive.
Conference tournaments are a relic from the days of regional conferences when half the league was within a 3 hour drive and many of the games werenât televised or tickets were impossible to get.
Far flung leagues donât stand a chance at good attendance anymore. Especially if the local fans donât show up⌠I am floored that UNT and SMU fans didnât even bother.
Wanna see empty seats? Wait until the last game tonight. 10 Niner fans here vs 13 Temple fans.
At least Temple brought their Pep Band.
I will look for yaâll Poovdog!
Vazquez for UAB just got ejected
Big 12 tournament also featuring plenty of empty seats.
