Not good when one of our best pitchers performs like that in tbe 10th either.
You cant expect a reliever to pitch 5 innings and get extra outs over and over because of errors, and stay sharp.
This is true, but walking in the winning run.
You are a funny guy.
A Niner catcher being called for obstruction. Now, when has that happened before?
And never in our favor. Also an obstruction call against us vs App the other season.
Yes, he can and does.
Not as funny as you big man.
Pitched well enough to win this series. Still not hitting great. Critical errors cost us this series.
I’m still not sure what Hopson is supposed to do in the situation at the plate. He caught the ball way ahead of the runner getting to the plate and tagged the runner. He should be able to go wherever he wants if he has the ball. He was coming from behind the plate to catch the ball. Where else was he supposed to go?
clt says we gotta get this turned around bigly quickly
Yea. Without knowing the technicalities of the rule, that appeared to be a very weird call. Woody didn’t argue, though. I’d be more inclined to accept it if the umps didn’t take 8 minutes or so to discuss it. Even if they are right, it’s a bad look.
What I don’t like about that situation is that they came back with a totally different call than was made in the field. The umpire called it an out, the runner thought he got under the tag. Then, after what seemed like 10 minutes of watching the video, they came back with a third call that no one on the field was looking for.
I could lip read a fan behind third base saying “I have no idea”. I guess somebody asked if he knew what was going on.
That call sets a bad precedent. If that is going to be obstruction, than there are going to be lots of steals of home attempted. I guess the intent is to avoid collisions and injury, but damn…
The bats (and walks) came out today. 7-0 Charlotte in the 5th (all 7 in this inning) and still no outs.
Carson had a perfect game going onto the 6th, until FAU got a homerun (barely) over the wall in left center and just inches from Bayne’s glove. Niners up 12-1 in the 8th.
Niners break out of the slump. Too bad they couldn’t get on yesterday to win the series.
Things that looks good to me today 0 walks issued and 0 errors
Today’s lineup looked good. Interesting seeing Cameron Hansen finish that one. Hopefully we found something in game 3.
I think we’ve found a lineup that we need to ride for awhile.
2 or 3 errors away from a sweep.
