Seems like the real deal and happy to see his leadership come through based on many comments from players and staff. Now let’s just hope it translates to completions, yards and WINS on the field.
It is crazy how we are going into 13 years of recruiting and we still haven’t had a legit QB. I loved Reynolds but he wasn’t a legit D1 FBS QB and he’s easily been the best we had.
I think that I am beginning to get excited!
We have been on the bad end of the probability of hitting on a good QB with D1 measurable physical traits.
Hopefully our luck is changing.

I didn’t say he wasn’t a good QB just that he wasn’t a legit D1 QB. He was undersized and fragile with a ton of heart. I love Chris. He came an led hung out at our tailgates, gave us a kick ass toast, he knows my kids - but it doesn’t change the fact if he’s the high water mark at that position and a walk-on after over a decade, we’ll that’s just not good.

How the hell was he not “legit”? Sorry, that is incorrect no matter how much you try to “explain” it. Just because he was underrated before he got here does not mean he wasn’t legit. He more than proved that he was a legit D1 qb. Results are clear on that.
Im going to side with you here. I think it’s fair to say he was a lower tier d1 (non p5) talent, and that’s exactly the level we were, but he showed he had the skills to produce at a d1 level. He just didn’t have the talent around him to protect him.
Whatever you can think what ever you want . He wasn’t as good as some FCS QBs. He’s just the best we have ever had and that’s not good for us. One of the biggest failings of our program is we still haven’t produced a really good QB and it’s why we have a single bowl season after 11 years.
Of course we haven’t really recruited great anyway at any position.
This is the most accurate description of our failures in football ever written on these threads. I agree 100%.
