Another fine choice to lead our Program. We have Ron, Fearne, Houston, Healy & Biff.

We should open a consulting practice🤣

That’s really not fair. Houston is a colossal douche and he used us like a tampon but he would’ve been the obvious hire if we got him. Dude won and won big everywhere.

I know you are joking but to our fans please do not throw trash on the field! We aren’t Texas and we will be penalized beyond belief.

Roger that and agreed.

He would have been a great hire on paper.

Way better than Sanchez because he won as a HC at lower ranks.

I think his story is very interesting. It makes me think it’s harder to win with good coaching the higher up the food chain you get.

My theory is that as you get higher in the football food chain it’s more dependent on recruiting and talent acquisition than coaching. Or at least you have to have both.

Which makes what guys like Cignetti and Deboar have don’t even more impressive.

I do think we MUST take lessons learned in our next hire for football and hire a good lower level coach and roll the dice with that. No more assistant coaches, mediocre FCS head coaches or gimmick hires like Biff.

It’s not a guarantee but it seems that will give us the best chance at success and at least we won’t be second guessing the hire.

You need 1) NIL $, and 2) a coach who can get mercenaries to buy in and build chemistry.

It’s the new reality.

Army remains at #23 and Navy up one to #24.

Boise State highest ranked G5 at #17.

Indiana up to #13.

Indiana should be top 10. Too many SEC pretenders ahead of them. Miami too.

If i remember right, Houston had success at multiple established programs and basically continued existing success from teams he inherited

Five years ago Littrell was a hot name at UNT among up and coming coaches.

Also AHC at UNC-CH before that. Had a couple of decent seasons at UNT early on but couldn’t sustain it and lasted longer than he should have. His 7 seasons in Denton coincided with those of AD Wren Baker, now AD at WVU.

Hall was a successful OC in the AAC at Tulane, under Fritz. Went and Won a bowl game in 2022 in his second year at Southern Miss.

Not sure how true it is but they were saying Houston was told he needed to win 7 games this year.

Do we have any type of minimum standards or stated goals for our HC/Program? Haven’t heard if we do.

Seems programs are moving now to get in the queue for HC candidates.
