Hope the fact that nothing has been announced yet doesn’t mean anything. Don’t want to be like High Point which went public with a transfer from URI only to have Mississippi State swoop in and flip the player!
Do transfers actually sign anything like a NLI or is it all verbal?

So I guess once they sign they can’t flip at this point since the portal is closed. Is that correct?
As the High Point example shows, anything seems possible whether signed or not, though I would think player still needs to request a release.

I think you are crazy to announce until the player is signed. Weird things can happen these days.
Usually don’t see anything wrong with announcing a commitment - though that definitely bit High Point in the rear recently - but definitely agree these are crazy times. I can only surmise that there’s been some sort of glitch - either with admissions, second thoughts, a “vulture” a la MS State swooping in, etc.
