, yes on paper.

Bonke looked big, not sure would describe the team as big and long as compared some of the other teams we will face in the AAC. But the Norfolk st transfer playing should help that.

Coach said we are much bigger, more athletic and can play above the rim this year.

I think Bonke is warping our height perspective on the team. I keep forgetting how tall they are because they look short compared to him.

From the Sycamores fan board:

I have it by pretty good authority that Charlotte may have spent somewhere in the neighborhood of 1.5 to 2.5 million $ on that roster that we played last night… so you got out spent by over $1 million.

The guy used”Pretty good” and “May Have” in his comment with a variation of 1 million dollars.

I would not consider this reliable info.

Fair but that number range is accurate. Safe to say it was at least 1.5, with some people having been told greater than 2 million. These numbers are from reliable sources

I’m personally skeptical it got more money than football. But from everything I’ve heard it was a huge jump from last year. We outbid P4 schools for Mingo

Forgot the league does these highlight packages:

I always get confused watching highlights because the camera is on the opposite side of the court from my seats. Everything happens in the wrong end of the court!

Yes, hard to believe we spent that kind of money$$ on this roster. Unless Mingo and the big guy are each getting close to $1m each, really hard to believe.

If we were spending that kind of money on hoops on those guys, football would of least brought in a couple All Conference level players. Also you would think Ali would of stayed here for $1m.

Just a reminder about international athletes and NIL limitations:

International student-athletes on F-1 visas face significant legal barriers to participating in Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) activities due to existing immigration laws prohibiting most forms of employment for F-1 visa holders.

Noncompliance carries serious consequences, including potential loss of visa status for students and civil or criminal penalties for institutions and athletic departments

We weren’t paying that kind of money back then. We apparently significantly upped our NIL for hoops this year.

football is a different beast. $2 million doesn’t buy shit for football. Backup quarterbacks at p4 programs can make more than we are offering starters. $2 million spread across dozens of players doesn’t go far. $2 million can buy a solid starting lineup in hoops though.
