Gotta wonder if impermissible payments to international athletes is where the CSC will take its first real stand. Coupled with an administration that is hostile towards higher education and especially foreign students, could get quite interesting.
Aaronâs accent makes it easy to tell whether this is a postgame for football or basketball.
clt says the refs missed a call just before the last davidson 3
we didnât deserve to win tho
I drew the short straw and ended up sitting next to 2 Davidson alums in 119. They were ok but the one guy talked my ear offâŚ.until we started coming back
Hunter Adam is a big weapon for them off the bench and it showed last night.
I love Fearne but I didnât think it was his best game. I get that our offense is largely ball screens but I felt like we settled for the 3 too many times. Our size, particularly Bonke, really bothered them. I was glad to see us show some fight in the second half.
Fearne now 0-3 against those dorks from N Meck.
Disappointing game for sure, but after the ISU game I thought we needed to fix the FTs or thatâs going to lose us some games and tonight it did. 2 or 3 misses on 1&1s, ice cold from 3 will doom anyoneâŚit killed us tonight in the worst way. Hit a couple more 3s or hit some of the FTs, the game is different. I was frustrated in the first half because we werenât driving to the basket at all, we did in the second half and we cut deeply into their lead to make it a game. Bottom line, gotta get the FTs % up to 70+ and not be 2-14 on 3s (which we were at one point). Hitting those 3s opens up drives.
I still think this is a much better team than last season, Iâm still optimisticâŚbut dammit I hate losing a game I believed we would/could win. This one stings.
Missed FTs, layups and open 3s. Canât shoot, canât win. Simple as that.
Down two late and Davidson kid took about 4 steps then hit a wide open Adam for the dagger. Shouldnât have been in that situation though.
25% from the field in the first half, only 35% for the game. 29% from 3. 11/20 from the stripe. Just horrendous shooting across the board.
I think that our fans are giving Davidson way too much credit. This one never should have been close. We did not adjust to their defensive scheme, our defensive effort was lacking until the late rally, we committed way too many turnovers and too many bad decisions, and all of that was outside of us shooting horribly.
This game should have been a 7-10 pt win based on the raw talent on the court. We were truly bad. This loss is going to hurt more and more as the season drags on.
When they struggle with or lose to Bowling Green or a very bad BC team, itâs going to hit. Itâs going to be worse if / when Tulane and Temple throttle them. This is not McKillop seniorâs Davidson teams. This yearâs squad is mid.
This game was hard to watch for the first 30 minutes. The last 10 minutes it looked like the team realized they Davidson wasnât just going to give them the game so they needed to start working for it. The defense didnât look bad, but it got better in the last 10 minutes. The offense looked horrible for pretty much the game. We did have some good plays here and there especially in that last 10 minutes. I donât think our offense should be that complicated. Pass the ball to Bonke on the block and let him pass out of a double team to an open player or do a pick and roll with Bonke and then throw the ball to the rim for him to dunk/get fouled. Either of those plays were successful when they did them, but both were there on multiple possessions without being used. It was extremely frustrating watching it.
I want tempo. How about we impose how we want to play on a team for a change? Damnit, I want some swagger and confidence. For at least the first 30 minutes, it looked like we were deer in the headlights against their defense. We should be much more athletic than them. Either we arenât or we didnât scheme and adjust properly.
That was just a really painful game.
I read that Davidsonâs prize freshman Ian Platteeuw has been cleared to play as early as this weekend, so we should soon see how he fits into the Cats rotation. Had figured the 7 footer would be a starter before the injury occurred, so expect heâll be eased into things. Anyway, if this year goes the way they have the previous three seasons under Matt McKillop, DC will do well in OOC play, then disappear in the A-10.
Getting beat by ECU & Davidson in the span of 4 days. Iâm glad the loyal fanbase is getting rewarded with so much success. I donât know how much more the fanbase can take. Meanwhile, who the hell knows what is going on in the athletic department. What a mess!!
I believe Fearne got a W against Davidson when Sanchez missed a game for some reason.
Heard on the radio that we are something like 3-10 vs Davidson in the last 13. Just horrible. Inexcusable.
Yeah, Iâm starting to agree with that sentiment. They can shoot lights out, but otgerwise, theyâre nothing special
The first half sucked all the life out of the building. It did not look like there were two good basketball teams out there last night. Disappointing, and even more concerning because this is two sub optimal performances in a row.
