Under .500 finish again (we aren’t making a run in the tourney). There’s been no improvement. Barely beat Shaw. Lost to UTSA at home. Blew countless leads. It’s a bad basketball team playing bad basketball.

Roster is too good to be non competitive in a weak American on a consistent basis. Plenty of horrific performances. Barely beating shaw (D2 who fired their coach), being UTSA’s only win since November, absolutely obliterated by 12-18 Memphis, winless at the mid season tournament. It’s time to move on
Totally agree. I think the talent on this team is better than what we have seen on the court.
I hate calling for someone’s job and letting him go is another enormous waste of money, but the results dictate that we have to. I wanted Fearne to succeed here. I cannot see a new AD attaching his reputation to this performance. That said, White won’t say a word until after the season.

We wont let him go, i am sure he is safe. Given the time it took to start and get an AD with no coaching hire experience, dont think changing bball coaches is on this years agenda. We all know how we operate.

If we finish with a losing record 2 years in a row we are in Mark Price territory. I like Fearne but I just don’t see anything to make me think next season would be any different. I think it would be a mistake not to do it now if we are pretty sure we’re going to have to do it after next season. We would only be saving $500k on the buyout and pretty much guaranteeing another lost season.

FWIW, would think Steele likely to get another chance in the Big East via his alma mater Butler. Thad Matta 2.0 has been pretty much a disaster in Indianapolis so expect he will be dismissed after the BE tournament. Plus Steele is from Danville, IN, which is just 20 miles west of Indy.
