This surprises me as I wouldn’t have thought the Providence job as being better than S. Fla,
He also passed on the Syracuse job in favor of Providence. They must have deep pockets.
The Friars expect to easily clear $10 million in NIL for next season’s roster.
Providence will EASILY pass a 10 million dollar NIL budget for their team next year. Read that statement again and let it sink in.
Why again should I get excited about college sports and the desire to be connected to the school that I attended as they compete against other schools and the pride and camaraderie it provides us?
Even if the big boys break away what will the inflated price be to compete at the next level down??
As Fanta notes, PC has an energetic fanbase that still averaged over 10,000 a game in the 12,000 seat Amica Mutual Pavilion (aka The AMP) during a what was a down year. USF was under 5,000 per game in the 10,500 Yuengling Center during a championship season. To really put that into perspective, PC has 5,000 students while USF has around 50,000.
With Utah State falling to Arizona tonight, expecting Calhoun to be named the new coach at Cincinnati sometime this week.
That’s a very good hire by Cincy.
Will be interesting to compare / contrast his success with Wes Miller’s going forward.
Had never been to Tempe until recently. Tempe / Arizona State was not at all what I expected. Tempe kinda reminds me of an outparcel downtown… kind of like Buckhead was to Atlanta. It’s just a few miles north of downtown Phoenix. And for an enrollment so big, it was weird to see a campus in a mini downtown setting like that…
I guess Colorado is somewhat similar. Just weird growing up on the East Coast where most of the big state U’s are in typical college towns.
