BTW, Bonke repped by same agent as Jahmir Young.

This is a joke.

He is not even close to NBA caliber at this point. He needs more reps to be able to maximize his pro potential, which I would be shocked is in the NBA. He simply does not have the physical tools for the NBA (probably ever) and his game is not even close to mature enough.

He struggles to catch the ball and doesnโ€™t even try tip ins. He doesnโ€™t have great touch around the rim. And his defensive instincts are poorly developed at this point. He needs more game time.

Did he improve this year yes.

But whoever is telling him this is a good idea is a fool.

Or, it could be an attempt to get some attention from NBA teams and some pro scouts to give him some critiques in private workouts.

God I hope so cause if not this kid has hitched his wagon to the wrong agent.

Testing the waters is typically considered a good move, especially for borderline players. Doesnโ€™t hurt to get feedback. JY did same thing before transferring to Maryland.

Never sure how I felt about Villar. Seemed slow on defense and his 3 point shooting was underwhelming.
He did seem to grow as the year went on but never felt like he was going to be all that based on what I saw.

Seemed like a good kid who was giving great effort.

Needed work on his inbounding skills.

Iโ€™d say that was a coaching problem that started with Sanchez.

There should be collective bargaining

Yeah, whatever miniscule hope was left that he was staying is officially gone.

Really hate where college sports are these days. He would have been a fun one to watch develop over the next couple of years. He has tremendous potential but he isnโ€™t there yet.

I think he only had 1 year left, iirc.

Blessing in disguise

Interesting. Elaborate if you donโ€™t mind. For nil reasons?

Weak hands, slow feet, had trouble creating a shot and finishing if he was defended.
Couldnt set an effective screen and had trouble staying out of foul trouble. If he was open he was hell on wheels with the dunks !

Same man! I really hate it. I would have loved to have him back for another year with a new staff.

Agreed and the few games I watched he seemed soft and would get in his own head. He has a lot of development in front of him to make the next step.
