2025-26 Niners Basketball 🏀

He was 17 of 59 from 3 and 28 of 91 overall at SC last season.

I’m reading that as he has good form that needs to yield better %s.

I just thought it was an interesting player breakdown. His shot looks pretty decent in those highlights. Might just lack confidence

Agree with the breakdown. Hope he turns into a good player for us.

Hopefully, he will be a better version of Jackson Threadgill.

For that he would need to stay 3 to 4 years. In the current state of college sports I doubt that happens.

Being a regular part of the rotation should help his numbers. Didn’t play in 9 of the first 14 games last season and then his PT ranged between a high of 33 mins to a low of 2 for the remainder of the year, with his most consistent action coming during the first half of SEC play.

I forgot where he was from, so the accent threw me.

We open with 2 at home. I’m pleased with that.

Otherwise, not much to say. I used to be concerned with who we had to play. Not this year. I’m more interested / concerned with what kind of team we have. I have no idea. Will see.

League is prioritizing Memphis and USF, so that’s why we only play each once and as the visiting team.

Our first game of the season comes against D3 NC Wesleyan based out of Rocky Mount. It’ll be a tough game to prep for considering our last matchup was in 1970.

Another tough one for game 2 against Indiana State. The film is hopefully not degraded too much from the last time we played them in 1975.

The third game of the year might be hard as well. We haven’t played Tennessee Tech since 1974. Another b/w projector to roll out to ensure our matchups are good against them after all this time.

Then it’s Davidson (we’re fucked), Virginia Tech (haven’t seen them since 1999 (we’re fucked)), App State (we’re fucked).

Shaw University after that stretch. A team we have never played.

A matchup against Illinois State will be hard to watch film for. We haven’t played them since 1989 and I assure you those digital cameras have not aged well.

Then a matchup against either Furman (2015) or Richmond (we’re fucked)

A&T is next who we haven’t seen since 2020.

Then Utah State (we’re fucked)

College of Charleston, Lafayette (1996), UIC (2007)

And then comes the conference games

The roster is so weird. The only two names I recognize are Blackmon and Richart. Everyone else seems new to me.

Double weird roster considering how many international guys there are. Canada x2, Belgium, Germany, Spain x2, Australia, and Vanuatu.

Otherwise, the USA spread is weird.

NC: 1

SC: 1

GA: 3

IN: 1

MD: 1

MS: 1

I guess when the coach is Australian and you’re in the midst of ACC schools, this is what you do haha. Everyone is from everywhere else in the world. Even the NC guy is from Burlington

Nc Wesleyan is an exhibition

I expect us to be much more suited to play utah state this year. We were essentially a big south roster last year

Bailey, Blackman, Bradford, and Richart are the returning players.

And FWIW, Bailey is a military brat, so he’s an American. Hometown pretty much gives that away.

Gonzaga got a lot of mileage out of rosters like that IIRC.

Not saying it’s the only way or the right way, but it has worked before.

Yeah I’m not saying it’s weird in a bad way. Just saying that it’s weird

Only two players on our roster did not play basketball in the US prior to this season - Gomez and Villar. And we have a long history of international players, so nothing new.
