Thatās a little harsh. He would be better with a decent OL but I do not believe he has what is needed to win at this level. He is definitely too slow and if we are going to run like Albin wants, we need a good dual purpose QB. I donāt think Harrell is the answer either but he is definitely much better at this point than Loftis. Everything will depend on Albinās recruiting from the portal. He is going to have a lot more $$$ to play with.

Yeah I think Loftis is much better if he has a better O line and at least the threat of a running attack. I donāt think many QBs could have done much behind our line this year.
Iām not desperate for him to stay, but I donāt think itās bad if he does. Really does depend on if Albin is committed to an offense that needs a running QB, that is def not Loftisā game.

One of the truths of the portal seems to be that if you have a competent kicker, you lose him, and find a new one each year. He was 9-12 on FG with a long of 42, good, but he wonāt command as much NIL as last yearās kickers did. If Bui isnāt good, I guess they will have find another.
Looks like they are setting up to take a fairly large number of players from the portal, perhaps 20-30 of them. I expect another 10-15 people who didnāt play this year to be entering the portal before we are done.

Itās hard to know who got a suggestion to leave, and who initiated it on his own. In Tylerās case, he started 6 games, so I doubt the coaches asked him to leave, but itās also possible that he expected that they would recruit over him, and he wants to be a starter somewhere next year. In any case, I thank him for his time in Charlotte, and hope he finds a good home for his final year.
Iām expecting maybe 10 more players to end up in the portal before we are done, mostly backups and former walkons.

Good point. In his case, he has experience but was pretty bad. Not an AAC level starter
