I wish him well. Unfortunately the only reason I knew his name was because of a few very costly plays that he did / didnāt make.
Bootle made some good plays, and some bad ones. Iām sorry to see him go, as he was a likely starter. I guess that moves true Freshman Chase Usher up to starter on my list, but hopefully they can add some corners from the portal.
He made more good plays for the other team than good plays for Charlotte
I hope he finds success in the future just not against us.
Both ON3 and 247 are showing that Miles Burris will enter the portal.

Heās another player that was a contributor, but hey, if heās not happy in Charlotte, I wish him good luck wherever he ends up.
Mo Clipper is hitting the portal
Anybody leaving that we actually care is leaving?
Any loss along the lines is tough to fill. So Clipper and Gibson sting quite a bit.
I disagree, although I agree with the sentiment. Continuity on the oline is important but gibson was really bsd when he filled in for ramil, and clipper was also not very good
I am really amazed that we havenāt seen more players indicating that they were going into the portal. Based on the past few years it seems like we had 15-20 saying they were transferring at this point.
For players to leave they need to have a better offer. Not sure we have the talent level we have had in the recent past. Iām just hoping for the best outcome.
Or they get pushed out, or think they will get a better offer.sone kids overestimate the offers theyāll receive.
A fair number of players who enter the portal do so without another offer and some wonāt find a new school to take them on.
Guys that started games for Charlotte last year will probably find new homes, but will they start for the new team? Based on team performance, Charlotteās average starter last year was worse than an average G5 starter. I expect Grant, Clipper, Gibson, Bootle, and Burris to all get G5 offers, but they will have to earn whatever position they end up with.
The one guy who I definitely didnāt want to see go was Boyd. He might well get a P4 offer and some good NIL.
@CarlP what do you think of Ohioās Mason Williams? He led the TE room in receiving. I wonder if Charlotte will consider him since he entered the portal today

Ohio has produced a lot of good tight ends. In 2024, they lost one to Ohio State, and one to Oklahoma State. Williams is right up there with those two. I think heāll have P4 offers. The two WR from Ohio who have announced that they will enter the portal (Hendricks, Harris) will also likely have P4 offers. The remaining Ohio players headed for the portal are backups.
Charlotte needs good players wherever they can find them. Ohio is but one possibility.
This thread and the 2026 recruiting thread should start heating up Friday. Letās hope for good things.
Shared on the Discord, but here is the breakdown of departures so far. When reviewing, keep in mind that some of the āGradsā could have another year of eligibility due to medical redshirts, etc. The āGradā title is simply given to individuals with a class title implying 4 of eligibility exhausted (Senior, Redshirt Senior, Grad, etc.). Portal guys also will have an option to return if Albin & Staff allow.

Summary:
I have stated several times how much I hate the NIL portal system. I donāt think it is sustainable in the long term. However, I donated to the crowdfunding to just see if we can make a difference this coming year.
It appears we will have over 3.5 million just from this endeavor. There are very few on our team I care to keep so Spend it all and let the chips fall where they may good or bad. We have to see some serious improvement. Go Niners!
