He played 3 plays when Harrell went out.
What?
Probably because it was an inter-conference game. He is representing Charlotte on his shirt and his job title, but representing the AAC to the rest of the college football world. I assume for in-conference play heāll switch to a C hat
Once again, commissioner Pernetti was in attendance. Fortunately, the new mascot was not. Game was embarrassing enough without adding that to it.
I thought it was odd that they did announce that Hopkins was out due to injury, but didnāt announce that Rutledge was out. If Rutledge was available, Iām pretty sure those kicks would not have been fair caught.
I think itās funny when a coach says that they didnāt play a guy because he needs some practice first. I saw guys all over the field that could use more practice.
The point is that if a person isnāt well enough to practice, he still isnāt ready to play. Iād hate to see him come back early and re-injure whatever was injured (ankle?).
Oh, so thatās how it works. (Kidding, Carl)
Around here, you have to laugh at the absurd. Itās our only real entertainment.
Coach and Commish.
What bothers me is Coach touted a few weeks ago that he was most impressed with his OL and DL. Yikes . We got pushed around all night.
Since players can easily move around from team to team now the NCAA should allow college teams to scrimmage each other. This was a common practice in college football up until the 1970s. This will allow for more team cohesion, which is especially important with line play.
Jeff would have made a huge difference. Have to think that when Woodward gave the green light he would have started football when Judy declined.
Worst case scenario we would be where we are now, but with another 10 years of football.
I did get to talk to his daughter Kelly at our tailgate Friday. She said he is doing well.
Iāve nothing to add really about the game Friday, like so many here I was really disappointed with the teamās performanceā¦I truly believed we would play better, even in a loss, than we didā¦very frustrating that all the things Albin preached against, we didā¦turnovers and penalties. Appy discovered our weaknesses and exploited them time and again.
My only saving grace in all this is that I do still believe we have a staff in place that will fix this, devise game plans that ought to yield better games moving forward. Iāve no evidence to point to, simply have to believe it.
I look forward to the days when, like Appy fans, I go into a game expecting to win rather than hoping to winā¦.I just hope Iām less arrogant (and unbearable) when those days arrive.
This reminded me of starting under Biff. We went an entire game throwing nothing but sideline passes of 5 yards - that we had trouble completing.
Adjustments will be interesting to see. Sucks we donāt have Monmouth next to help get things settled.
I say we let all three quarterbacks start a game and then make an assessment. What say you guys?
Donāt think it would have mattered. whoever was quarterback. With the lack of execution on the offensive line, there is very little the backfield can do to change things.
And the fact that the defense gave up over 500 yards
I was overjoyed when this thread was closed. Now itās open again like a sore, festering wound with more salt being thrown in for extra masochistic thrills. God, I have to move on! ![]()
