I thought it was ball call on the deep throw but weāre just not very good. No need to mind screw it.
Albin spent a good part of his post game press conference talking about recruitingā¦I am looking forward to seeing some new faces next year.
We actually moved the ball pretty well at times Saturday but followed it up with a turnover. I had a great time tailgating with some friends I havenāt seen in a long time, weather was fantastic for October (could have been a little cooler actually).
I think Loftis it a better passer than Wilcke, and thus, has more upside. IF Charlotte had a great offensive line that could make the running game work consistently, and keep the pocket clean on passing attempts, Loftis could be very goodā¦but they donāt. As a result Charlotte needs a QB who is a better ball handler, better at reading the RPOs, more willing to pull the ball and run with it, and better at throwing on the run. In my opinion, Wilcke is the best choice for now, though Harrell was even better.
I agree, with our offensive line Wilcke is the better option. Loftis probably had a really good o-line at Duke and that allowed him to be much more successful.
Loftis decision making under pressure is abhorrent. Go with the QB that has better instincts. Canāt let the pursuit of perfect get in the way of good.
A former college player sat beside me on Saturday, and he was telling me after nearly every pass that both QBs are 2 seconds slow passing the ball
I see something strange in the post game stats. Did Devin Davis really start at DT? He has started at RG before, but was injured. The DL did need some help, so itās not impossible, I suppose.
We have done it before when we got painfully thin at OL and DL under Healy.
He didnāt have any tackles, so I have no way to know for sure. Iāll try to watch for that in the next game. The source is page 6 of this:
Heās actually listed as a starter on defense playing āOLā, but there are 5 OL listed on offense, and only one other defensive tackle listed as a starter, Caleb Irving.
We probably pay more for Loftis than Wilcke so itās the sunk cost conundrum
