I recall this as well. The judge wasnât happy about the immediate impacts of the roster reduction so made the sides go back and figure it out.

Thanks and, yes, was aware of that. Figured thatâs why menâs basketball has 16 players on its roster instead of 15.
The original settlement included the 105 cap and the judge rejected it. Thatâs the assumption we were operating under. And it ended up being wrong.
But the original assumption was what, March? And the final decision was June?
Actually, Wilkins did not reject the 105 cap long term. Every FBS conference agreed to it, with the three service academies being an exception. And the grandfather clause really had more to do with concerns expressed by non-revenue sports athletes.
Long term, no. But for this season, yes. Correct?
Yep, this season IIRC. Iâve read so much about the various lawsuits against the NCAA itâs not always easy to keep them separate, especially when there are similar concerns bring litigated from one case to another.
Epic big time win? That would have been GT or Oklahoma, not the Niners.
Sports segment on tonightâs WCNC Charlotte @ 11PM newscast:
Yep, totally irrelevant.
well they did just win a conf road game in 6 yrs.
This board comes up with some crazy takes some times, but this is up there. Do you think the players were so distraught they could not focus bc the AD was let go? Do you think they even know who Mike Hill was? Christ, Temple had to give us a pity TD at the end to keep it within 35.
Of course our athletes know Hill. Geez!
Yes this was a wild statement that I just let fly. Those kids donât give a damn about Mike Hill lol
cracks me up, âsorry coach, I just didnât have it today with everything that happened with Hill this week. I just canât concentrate to tackle, catch the ball or stop from fumbling. etc..â If, If , If, that is accurate thatâs not a player motivation problem, thatâs a HC problem.
clt says we need to start wilcke for the rest of the season
At this point just need season to end so we can reset.
Not distraught but not focused. Iâve seen looking cool with different uniform changes distract college teams before.
Thanks to those 49ers I met on my visit. The result was obviously not what I had hoped for, but it was a very odd game. The final stats and and score are remarkably different. Charlotte had nearly as many yards (357-384), more first downs (21-18), ran significantly more plays (76-53), had less penalty yards (3-20 versus 3-40), and dominated time of possession (34:44 to 25:16), but still was totally crushed where it counts, on the scoreboard. Part of it was the three turnovers, obviously. Another part was zero red zone stops by the defense. A third part was a failure by the offense in the red zone all but two times, and one of the two successes came long after the game had already been decided.
The defense made five stops in the game, but they didnât get stops when they needed them. They need some new play calls in critical situations, I think. The offense would move the ball, then go for a big pass, and when it failed, get behind the chains and end up punting. The bottom line is that the result was abysmal, but when you look at the stats, you realize that Charlotte must have done some good things along the way.
The few bright spots that I can think of? Having them gain nearly 200 yards rushing is a big improvement. They occasionally got some pressure on the Temple QB. There appeared to only be one additional injury, but unfortunately it was another offensive lineman (exactly what Charlotte canât afford to lose more of), Rod Green, who has been playing well. Once again, WIlcke looked fine. When it comes to the QBs, itâs clear that Loftis has talent, but he just isnât getting the job done. With Wilcke, on the other hand, he seems more consistent. Heâs not going to put the team on his back and carry them, but heâs not going to hurt the team, either. He can execute the offense competently.
Was great to meet and chat with you!
Still donât understand the desire to play Loftis over Wilcke. I could see it if Wilcke was turning the ball over a lot and Loftis was not. But Loftis seems to have more problems with turnovers and just doesnât have the ability to run or improvise like Wilcke does. Not saying either one is great but I think Wilcke moves the offense better and can do things that Loftis just canât do.
