Why do we continue to seemingly make very mediocre starting pitchers on below mediocre teams look so much better than they have against other teams all season?

Our offense has been inconsistent all season.
When you take away our best hitter (Gunderson) and another big bat (Bayne), that doesn’t help.
Hats off to our guys for stepping up and getting it done when we needed it. We’ve had several clutch ABs late in the games this weekend.
Also, I wouldn’t consider their Friday starter a mediocre pitcher. Collin Daniel was preseason AAC Pitcher of the Year and has won AAC Pitcher of the Week multiple times this year. Their Saturday starter was ok, but their bullpen is not good.

Fair enough on Daniel, but his season stats are certainly not reflective of POY type numbers…any idea when B and G might be back?
Right before that the ball hit the third base bag, I was yelling for it to kick foul, glad it didn’t listen lol. That was a fun exciting game.

It’s always interesting to see who has what in the pen this time of year. UTSA had a chance to sweep eastern last night and Hallmark basically left former Niner, Christian Okerholm, out on the mound to go down with the ship.

Agree with NinerJ. JT’s pitches don’t look as sharp as earlier this season. He needs some rest.
