Seriously,can we get some decent weekday pitching? 4 freakin homers in 4 innings…now down 10-0 and counting in the 4th, to Campbell…yes, Campbell is a decent team, but they’re 10-13 coming in against a very mediocre schedule. If this season continues like it is, how much longer does Woodard get? This would make 2 VERY poor years in a row…embarrassing.

Once again, i have been fooled into believing a Charlotte coach is way better than he is. This time its Woodard. I mean, this is what, year 6. Some of these teams/programs outperforming us… not good. Very little offense, pitching not good outside of Gillespie, terrible at base running, stealing (we get thrown out about 90% of the time) and even pretty bad at throwing out base stealers regardless of how good Poteet SEEMED to look early in the year. He is now throwing out maybe 1 runner out of every 5-6…maybe.
This is looking like one of those games that coaches say "burn the tape’ afterward. Happens to every team, I suppose.

while having dinner. Great decision by me.
I’m Planning to go to the ECU game uptown with some friends, but now I am dreading it.
A couple of the guys are ECU fans and I will have to sit there in defeat again.
Baseball is a funny game, but I fully expect to get swept by ECU.
Going to really suck.
Nothing positive to take away from this game.
Maybe it will serve as a wake-up call heading into the weekend.
We should have had about 4-5 “wake up” calls already this year.

Tell me again how great WoodARD is. Does anyone here believe we are performing up to our abilities? If we are, who/what do we blame? Maybe it is just bad luck or it could be coaching. It’s hard to call it bad luck when the opponent hits 5 home runs and wins by 10.

Buck up, my friend. The baseball gods are very fickle. They may yet smile upon us against ECU.
I have been beat down to much as a niner fan lately to Buck up. But I do agree with you that it will take the “baseball gods” smiling upon us to salvage this season.
If we get swept by ECU does that start the “fire coach” talk??
Probably. Something is bad wrong with our pitching. This is WoodARD’s team all the way up and down the roster. The season isn’t lost yet but he needs a very quick turnaround. New pitching coach? A shake up in the roster?
Something has to change somewhere and it is difficult to fire a whole team.
Pitching has been fine overall this season. We are pitching well enough to win. One of the deeper staffs that we’ve had. We are not walking guys, which was a big concern in previous seasons. Last night was an outlier when you look at the season as a whole.
The main problem is we are not driving in enough runs. We are only scoring a little over 5 runs per game, that’s the lowest it has been in years. We’ve scored in spurts but it’s been very inconsistent.
