clt likes the American hat
This is one of the thing we have been looking for consistently from other staffs. Good start for Albin.
Albin sent a Niners helmet and uniform to Dale Earnhardt Jr.with a personal invite to spring practice on his podcast today. Dale Jr seemed really excited.
That’s the kind of stuff that will build support from the local community. Thank goodness CLT has somebody that gets it.
Organization will definitely be a strong point. Note that those were his first hires; before the assistant coaches, Albin chose things like director of football operations. I have said before that I expect them to regularly host coaching clinics for regional high school coaches. Hopefully they can build some close ties.
One other thing I expect is continuing staff stability. There will always be turnover, but I expect it to be minimal, 1-2 assistants a year. Albin seems to really enjoy Charlotte. Treat him right, and I predict he stays in Charlotte until he retires (if you want him that long).
I loved the player interviews. I know that the interviews were just standard “coach-speak” and “player-speak”, but the tone was what I was looking for. Also, I love seeing votes for all four of the QB candidates. Any one of them could rise to the top, and I have no idea who it will be, but I believe that whoever wins the job will do a fine job.
That’s so cool. Huge Dale Jr fan and glad to see our coach capitalize on a chance like this to engage with a local figure. Smart move!
Albin is off to a great start. Details matter. Love the publicity for the program with local coaches and Dale Jr. Well done!
clt says it isn’t a bad thing to have a fan who is worth $300M, and his sister ( class of 96) who is worth $50M
I was on cloud 49 until he said UNCC.
As a Niner alum, father / brother / cousin / BIL etc of other graduates, and son of a retired professor, I’m OK with Jr. calling it UNCC. But then I’m an old fart!
Meant to say / ask - on the Hwy 49 podcast, they said that Sean Brown is trying to get 1 more year of eligibility. That would be a big get if he can pull it off. Steady, steady hands and circus catches. Would love to have him for one more go around.
That had to be the best/most impressive catch in Charlotte history
Getting Sean Brown back would be HUGE! Very sure hands, makes contested catches and just a great teammate. Our QBs would love him!
