Oof. I just hope we make it out of the last two weeks alive.

I hope that the team shows it still has fight left, and plays hard in both games. I want them to set the tone for a strong off-season of improvement, not limp to the finish line.

I get that but hopefully 80% of the team will be new next year so donโ€™t know if it matters.

I donโ€™t understand this narrative that is bantered about, why does everyone think this years schedule is go hard comparatively? App State isnโ€™t good this year, losing record, UNC, losing record, we played S Fla last year, Navy ranked last year, Ind ranked CFB playoff team last year. Seeing what we know now, IMHO I would say this is one of our easier schedules we have had in several years. Seems like an excuse we keep throwing around

Well you replied to how we are ending the season with games against two projected CFP teams, though I didnโ€™t make that argument in the post you are replying to.

Itโ€™s a change of topic, but going into the season, the CHeat and App games were expected to be harder than they turned out to be. Those were both increasingly disappointing losses in hindsight. Also, very few G5 teams schedule two P4 teams each season, let alone ones as top end as Georgia (which we knew going in) and Indiana last year (which we had no clue would be that good when we scheduled them years ago).

agreed, I was replying to Hunters comments in his article, you just happened to post it. I should have noted that.

I agree. App and unc were winnable, we just suck this year

Hopefully that is not the case. There is a double attrition this year, nationwide, as players who started playing in 2020 have used up their eligibility, and players who started in 2021 (and didnโ€™t get an extra covid year) have also used up their eligibility. Thus, all teams will be needing extra players this year. Getting quality players from the portal will be at least twice as hard as usual, so I would hate to see Charlotte replacing anywhere close to 80% of the players. With coaches getting a much earlier start, and with it obvious that Charlotte is a place where they can start, hopefully Charlotte will be able to get some good talent, and get it early, despite the tightness in the pool.

And Albin gets extra time, one advantage of a lousy year. Half the teams go to Bowls therefore getting a late start on recruiting and what players may be available. The opposite of last year for Albin (not enough time)

Tulane may rest its starters in preparation of the playoffs and then we pull a stupid upset and knock them out of it

Tulane still have lots of work to do to get there, also have to play at Temple, would assume they get to host North Texas in Conference Championship.

In general a Conference Championship game in Nola is good for the league and probably makes the Commish happy.
