I don’t know why anyone would hire a coach from Memphis softball. They’ve been awful!! I think we had more AAC wins this season than they’ve had in the last 5 seasons combined!!

I suspect VanBrakle Prothro wanted to return to the SEC after 2 seasons in Memphis. She’s an alum + former assistant at Bama - where she won a WCWS as pitching coach.
What I’m saying is that he’s made a half mill+ the last 6 or so years. He’s probably connected as hell and could more than likely get a job at a P5 in a dept making a little less without having to be the answer man.
Not like the avg schmo making 50k a year and losing a job.

They could settle down in York or Chester counties as something of a compromise though the drive to UCity and back can be something of a chore - especially during rush hour. Would think they won’t see much of each other during the mostly overlapping baseball and softball seasons anyway.
Nah, they can get a house in Shady Oaks, SC. All good.

Heard that about Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward’s 50 year marriage though that’s pretty much Hollywood mythology. In fact, they lived mostly in Connecticut but true that his acting career and racing hobby took him away from home for stretches at a time.
Interesting - Auburn just hired husband and wife co-head coaches:
NC State had the same situation (different couple) until they fired their co-HCs after the 2023 season.

Tennessee had the same thing for many years with the Weekly’s, until the husband, Ralph retired a couple years ago and the wife, Karen continued continues coaching.
