Impressive outing from Avery Shamlin in the circle. Memphis is fairly anemic on the offensive side, but 5 shutout innings from the freshman was good to see.
Brook Bowling with two thrill a minute shutout frames to end the game, overcoming a throwing error and a scratch hit in the 7th.
Niners with a very good chance to finish 3rd in the AAC and an outside chance to finish second. Not bad for a team picked 11th in preseason and decimated by the coaching change and subsequent defections.
Still, no chance at postseason without a tournament win. Too many blowout losses against the P5.
