We have to hit the portal hard for a couple of high level pitchers to keep ourselves in the upper part of the conference.
I’ve been thinking Jarrell might make a better SS than Ritchie too. I have been very impressed with her in the field. Ritchie has hurt us some with her glove. We need her bat, but she could play second base. And yes, keeping Jenna is key. No one produces like her.
We had no business doing as well as we did this year. The staff arrived with 8 weeks until school started and 5 players on the roster. A 6th, Williams, was in the portal but returned. They somehow went out and found the AAC POY. The league co-FOY committed a couple of days before school started.
Pitching help is needed but I’m thinking the staff will have a better shot at it with an entire recruiting cycle to work with.
There is absolutely nothing but positive trajectory with this program right now. Honestly, I doubted them on the front end, but I’m not making that mistake twice.

Proud of this team. They were picked dead last for a reason. They were coached up and we got great results. The future is very bright.

This team began the year at almost the bottom of the barrel. Almost devoid of players. I think they did pretty well…all things considered. Context. Context!!!

We are 1 or 2 players from being a Regional team. Judging by the players they were able to bring in in such a short period of time, I trust talent evaluation by this staff and can’t wait to see what a full recruiting cycle looks like.
As others have said, they only brought in the conference player of the year & freshman of the year in an 8 week recruiting window. Hell, Jenna is in line to be the 3rd All-American that we’ve ever had in program history. No one had heard of Jenna Lord before this season, and now her name could end up on our wall at the Sue. Great story.
As far as the game itself, we had the heart of our lineup at bat with the game on the line. We had it all set up to walk them off. We got a pop out foul, RBI single, and an infield pop out. At some point it is on the players to execute. We just didn’t in this case.

Apple of ECU pitched a great game. I don’t know if she has been that good all year, but she was yesterday. Our walks and HBP’s really killed us in a tight ballgame. That said, I am proud of the Ladies and look forward to next year.

FAU just lost in their semifinal game. I guess their coach is not good when eyes are upon her 
This loss will probably not affect their NCAA seeding much

Riley Gilmore probably transferring to get playing time, which she did not get here.
Duke loses in their Durham regional. No reports of opposing fans being ejected or sketchy obsruction calls

Just went through the brackets and realized that we played 17 of the teams in the Regionals. Our record wasn’t great against them, but the tough schedule definitely helped us in the AAC.

Rodney resigned at UNT. I’m sure they’ll have plenty of players in the portal soon. Any we should take a look at?
