Any news on a new coach?

Our top targets have turned us down

How many have turned us down?

But but but…we are a good job!

The last couple of weeks I have been sitting on a hiring committee searching for a faculty member in a fairly lucrative field. There’s been two primary discussions: 1) which candidates do we like, and 2) which ones are willing to accept what we’re offering. I’m sure the same is true here.

For reference:

We were paying Devos $62,000 her last season.
Chastain was making $126,000 here before she left.

Don’t go posting something like this without supporting evidence.
Thanks

If the announced head coach isn’t Taylor Wike, it means she turned us down. I guarantee she was our first choice. Plus it has been 11 days since Chastain left. Do you think it would have taken this long if we had hit our top choice? It’s completely fine that we swung high at a couple and missed but we’re not getting our first choice.

Do YOU know this for a fact about Wike? And about getting our first choice? I seriously doubt it.

Right or wrong stating assumptions as facts is a dangerous game. There are a lot of moving parts with a D1 coaching hire especially with donors having input. There is also a lot going on with the SB program with facilities and future growth. Sometimes it takes a little longer to convey your complete vision to the people you want to see it.

On the other hand its a message board so do your thing.

If we get someone who can make us competitive again in a reasonable time frame,
I don’t care if that person is our first choice or our last choice.

Wasn’t the best timing either with Chastain’s resignation coming at the same time as the annual NACDA convention was being held, so would think Hill wasn’t able to give this his full attention until he had returned from Las Vegas.

Gamecock to a Tiger, I like it

I think it’s a good hire. As Clemson’s recruiting coordinator she’s going to be familiar with the area and a lot of the roster.

Seems like a decent hire but feel for her as she has a lot of work to do in such a short time. I don’t think she is going be one that brings players with her so recruiting will be interesting. Wishing her the best!

Just now seeing that Breault part of the first coaching staff for the Tigers. Didn’t realize CU didn’t sponsor softball until 2020.

Good news is she has experience building a team from scratch. I am hopeful she can re-build our squad quickly.

Isn’t that wild? And they pretty much climbed straight up the ladder.

Yep, reminds me of what Gene Bartow did at UAB with men’s basketball.
