Obviously, we are nowhere near being in that discussion. Setting that issue aside, Iād rather have our staff prepping for the portal instead of the Birmingham Bowl.
Iād feel differently if our team earned it and it was a sign of momentum. If youāre 5-7 and the 7th team invited, thatās clearly not the case.

Seems like the bowl ecosystem is going to reduce the number of games moving forward.
Seems like the market will either shift to more money for the school and players (paying players direct NIL for a bowl game, is that happening now?!?) to get them to show up or there will be a reduction in bowl games.
If I was a player I would want a piece of the financial pie.
I donāt like ND or the ACC but the way I see it ND got ACC basketball and the ACC got very little in return. What permanent damage is he referring to?

Also is the AD saying the fix was in with the CFP committee?
Is he impugning the integrity of the committee??
The CFP is guaranteeing them a playoff spot if they are in the top 12 starting next season. I donāt think they can try and pretend to be a victim of the CFP when they are getting that kind of special treatment moving forward. And they lost head to head against Miami. Itās kind of hard to argue you are better than them when they beat you.

Call me an old-fart traditionalist, but there are way too many bowlsā¦theyāre meaningless.
Donāt get me wrong, if the Niners make the Worthless Radish Lovers of Bangor Maine Bowl held in Bumpass, Virginia, Iām goingā¦but bowl season has lost all value when teams with losing records make it.

Part of it is there are more fbs now than There were before.
If teams hadnāt declined invites I donāt think thereāl would have been losing record bowl teams.

Still donāt like so many bowlsā¦but it is what it is. I agree, teams declining opened the door this year, but I suppose if thatās happening shouldnāt the question to ask is why?
Well I think more and more players bailing on the bowls so teams donāt have a choice.
