2025 Game Announcement: CLT vs App State at BOA

Why would they need ice when it’s always so nice and cool on the Rock?

This is borderline silly…
You say the number can’t be proven…because you don’t don’t trust their reported numbers but I assume you trust ours?

So, what is ours…12K maybe?? Reported and eyeball test…12K is about right for us?

And if you don’t trust what they report…what do your eyes tell you?
If it’s not 30K butts in seats…do you see 24K??

24k would be 6K less than they report but that’s still DOUBLE what we average.
DOUBLE.

They have more fan support. Charlotte is an EASY destination for them. Is it really that crazy to think they wiill have a larger showing??
Stating that is not carrying water…it’s just true.

I mean…wtf are we debating??

I don’t trust anyones’ numbers for actual butts in seats because every program self-reports these. I just think it’s harder to fudge numbers when stadiums are smaller and lack large areas for fans to not be visible all the time, like stands that cover concessions and bathrooms.

So, what is ours…12K maybe?? Reported and eyeball test…12K is about right for us?

So far this season we reported 13k average. Since it was the last game that really tanked our average I’d assume the 8k figure reported in that game was mostly accurate. The smaller the numbers you have to work with, the smaller the amount you can ā€œplay withā€.

And if you don’t trust what they report…what do your eyes tell you?

In game images I’ve seen look like 75% to 85% in the home stands. They have good numbers and no one is denying that.

Yes, they are doing well for a G5. No one denies that.

I fully expect them to have more fans than us at BoA, which is one reason I don’t like the idea of playing any teams in BoA , ever.

I mean…wtf are we debating??

It’s a slow news Friday and we’re all just kill’n time.

So here are things I think we can all agree on:

1) App has at least double our current fan support in football.
2) They will probably be the majority of fans at BoA in 2025.
3) They have good home attendance.
4) Every program fudges their attendance figures to the best of their abilities to do so.
5) The larger the stadium and the move covered and/or underregulated (see App’s Hill) the areas they possess, the more numbers fudging a program can ā€œworkā€ with.

When we get to this game day and the potential winner is a true toss up, the place will be packed and rest assured, Charlotte fans will SHOW UP AND SHOW OUT.
We just have to have a competitive team by then. If not, then of course appies will outnumber us and beat us for a fourth straight time.

I do like that we will play them in Charlotte 4 times in 6 years.

I agree. We have a fair weather fan base.

Let’s just make sure we beat them so we can get that check box checked.

Beating ECU this year was awesome.

But I want that App win.

They lucked out in Boone with Reynolds getting hurt. We could have had that game.

That is the number one scalp our team needs IMHO.

Let’s beat them and keep beating them and make our already commanding lead in ā€œgames that matterā€ insurmountable.

Once we get the first win we can move on to other wins that are more important. What is important about beating them is they have had the best program in the state for the last 20 years or so. The most dominate and most consistent. Beating them isn’t about a program defining win, it is about showing that we have arrived as an in state threat.

Every fanbase is that. You think app’s fans will show when they are 3-7?

For this game, yes.

This shit is not intentional. It’s the head hillbilly who can’t count high enough to cipher factual butts in seats. And App St is ok with that, as he also runs their college of cyphering. He also preaches at the local snake handling church, so they just have faith in the numbers and the signs

I’ll never be convinced that they didn’t purposely knock Reynolds out of this game. The tackler hit him as he was trying to go out of bounds and then landed on him with his full body weight after he landed on his side. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Should be our first game as an R1 research university. Be good to get a W against a little masters level school.

Don’t confuse the App people lurking around.

I’ll just be elated when we can notch that first football win against them and stop talking about Wendy’s, Tweetsie, academic programs, and all things NOT related to football. It makes us look small and desperate and shouts, ā€œWe’ve never beaten them!ā€ I believe we can be ready for them by ā€˜25 and then, let the rivalry begin.

Our fan support is pretty amazing considering how bad we’ve been for so long in revenue sports.

I want to beat them too…but 2 of 3 games have been up there and both were very competitive despite what their fans like to pretend.

I don’t think students get an automatic ticket this year and certainly not any number of guest tickets. For some of the games there was a lottery and it may have been all home games had a lottery.

I hate that personally given the students have to pay athletic fees but the attendance it that high now. But it is a nice problem to have.

See you in 2025 and good luck with the rest of your athletic teams this year.
