2025 Game Announcement: CLT vs App State at BOA

Pot and patchouli! :face_vomiting:

I’d love to see what our fanbase could do if we put out a legitimate winner. Unfortunately it’s been 25 years since that happened.

Winning solves everything.

Hope we get better with these tough schedules coming up.

Lots of people go to BR/Boone area every Saturday in the fall. Hate to tell you, most are NOT going to see App football.

App doesn’t average 30k. They do better than we do, but it’s no where near 30k actual butts in seats. More like 22K to 25k.

App benefits from being the only thing for their students to do on a Saturday afternoon. I don’t think the Yosef Club is larger or donates more than the Niner Club.

As for their expected attendance for a game at BoA, this is the total ECU and they brought to BoA in 2021:

36,752

Assume they were 20k of that due to proximity.

This is a game that our fans need to show up for no matter what the product on the field looks like. Opening game of the season, against an in state rival, in an NFL stadium. This is not a game, this is an event. We have an opportunity as a fanbase to make a statement by just buying tickets and showing up. Something that we have a shaky track record of doing. Hopefully we won’t be sitting back making excuses as to why there were more App fans than us.

Go ahead and start pumping this game up to your college buddies who don’t make it to campus much , and your 49er co-workers who just have a casual interest. Lets get our plans in place for that weekend: tailgating, hotel, after party, etc. We cant control the product on the field, but there are other things we can control. Lets take care of those.

Believe what you want but my eyes and multiple years of experience attending games at both schools tells me you are and others that want to think the numbers aren’t over 30k are just simple wrong.

As for this game what does it matter who has more fans, best thing both schools is to put 50k in the place and make it an entertaining game. That leads to lost of exposure and the powers that be going how are two group of five schools drawing that many fans.

2014 = 23,166
2015 = 21,459
2016 = 26,153
2017 = 25,787
2018 = 23,351
2019 = 27,773
2020 = Covid
2021 = 29,389
2022 = 33,566
2023 = 35,431

In 2022 their new endzone seating opened, but if you believe this seating brought in 4000 MORE per game, you had better be the biggest advocate of our stadium expansion.

I didn’t include Sun Belt Champ Games because they would significantly drop the average. I did include max cap UNC game in 2022 and ECU this year.

They have good attendance, I’d love to have it here; but they aren’t counting tickets scanned either. These numbers are fudged like almost everyone else.

Ticket Sold? Tickets Distributed? Tickets Scanned? Makes a big difference on how you count things.

Yes. I hate App but they have a strong supportive fan base and a lot of them live in Charlotte. I live in Winston-Salem and feel like it’s full of App alums. They’ll be well represented at BOA.

Hopefully we can have a very good season next year and get some momentum going into 2025.

As you said----believe what YOU want…but 49RFN hit the nail on the head.

D.O.B.A.

Every word.

It’s amazing how people here get their lacy panties in a bunch when they can’t deal with an inconvenient truth.

App has a much larger and rabid fanbase…Charlotte is more convenient to most of them too. Just facts. And I love the debating on if they average 30K. Even if it’s 23K…that’s over 50% more than our MAX which we do not average.

I just don’t want Niner fans distributing opponent propaganda. Congratulate them on their proven achievements, but don’t carry their water on the ones they claim that can’t be proven. They have enough water carriers of their own without outside help.

Seating capacity is 30000, but for the UNC game, along with the first two games this year they added additional end zone seating that account for an additional 2000 seats. That number doesn’t include that each student can get a ticket with no set number on that.

They have sold out season tickets for the past two years (11k) and sold out every game this year. That correlates with the increase in numbers, and based on my in person attendance at some games I can tell you its not inflated near the amount you are thinking.

Rebranding the site this weekend.

For all their “success”, they still cant outfundraise us.

How much did they pay you to betray your beliefs? :rofl:

This is turning into an App State fanboy thread. :face_vomiting:

I just wish we had a hill and stands to hide our numbers under. We’d start averaging 22k overnight. Too bad our bathrooms aren’t large enough to hold 15k during the game.

Hey we do have more ice than they do. They won’t know what do to at BoA and all that ice.
