App fans certainly could out number us but we will see what happens between now and then. They have a 2 decade run building their fanbase and bring in 30k most Saturdays and a large contingent of their fanbase is here.
If we can win some before then we will take the crowd. We have a bigger student body and bigger alumni base. Only question is if we will give them a reason to come out.

Whether you want to admit it or notâŚApp St has decades of success that has cultivated a huge followingâŚthey literally avg over double our avg attendance (somewhere near 30KâŚwhile we canât sell out 15k consistently) at home games where most of the fans have to drive hours through the mountains to get to.
SoâŚif they avg double our attendance at a mountain venue that takes hours to get toâŚitâs not unlikely they bring the same to Charlotte (which is probably a more convenient location to get to than their own stadium). Especially when they have a chance to show us up in our back yard.
The numbers support it could be as much as 2-1. I donât think it will be that bad (unless Biff & co lay another egg next year) but it will be substantially more App fans.

Dream onâŚfirst of all, they get good crowds but they inflate the hell out of their numbers. Ive been there. Theyâll have a lot of fans, due to lots of alum living near Charlotte but it will NOT be more than we have, sure as hell not like you describe. Also, the vast majority of their home fans ARE NOT driving from hours away. Thats laughable. Probably half or more of their non student fans are Boone residents. They have no pro teams. App football is all they have in town.

Our fans come out for an event, like those early baseball games at Knights stadium. I think itâll be close, theyâll turn out as well of course. It depends too on how we do new year, is it another 3-9/4-8 season or will we be coming off a bowl.
I know Iâm taking off Thursday and Friday to get right for this one.

The traffic on 321/421 coming up the mountains on game days sayâs otherwise.
I love to shit on App and their two story Wendyâs, but when it comes to football their fanbase isnât a joke. They support their team and they bring a crowd. Itâs easy because they win, a lot. They have definitely been slipping so their is a chance. They have the biggest chunk of their alumni here.
Our fanbase on the other hand has experienced a lot of losing and and complains constantly. We have a huge fan base here that routinely does not come out to watch us and we have fans in this board who id say are our diehard fans, that have not come to games because of the weather.
Fact is with football Apps fanbase totally out classes us. At BoA where there will be plenty of tickets I expect them to out number us unless Biff really delivers next year and our program is riding high.
