Different format this season to try to ‘protect the higher seeds.’ I wish we had this format last year when we were the 2.
We play Memphis in a single elimination game. If we win, we enter a double elimination tournament vs UAB.

USF has to be doing some soul searching. They hired Mitch Hannah and gave him some resources. Finished 3rd last year and now they have missed the conference tournament that is held in their back yard. I believe last year is the only year they have made it since we joined the American.

Tulane fans have been doing some soul searching since our series with them. They have a proud history in baseball and their fans want them to invest more. I feel like they have put up resources.
I feel like the floor has been raised in this conference this year. There are not 200+ RPI anchors this year. We just are not as strong at the top as we have been. USF has a 77 RPI and missed the tournament. Lowest RPI in the league is 153. 6 out of 10 teams are in the Top 100. Only 1 in the top 50.
Rice seems to have finally found their coach and are getting behind him with resources.
Memphis came out of nowhere this year. Are they building or just a 1 hit wonder?
Same with UAB. Are they going to invest in baseball after this successful season?
Any 1 of these 8 teams can win this tournament, and no team would surprise me.
We have won our last 3 series and are getting our best player back and healthy.

Who do we start today Copper or Combs?
I feel like we should throw Combs. He’s been pretty consistent down the stretch in his new role.
I’m guessing we will see Howell again. He had his career outing against us last week. Surely lightening won’t strike twice for him.

We should consider bringing in a proper pitching coach this offseason.
He (Copper) gave up his ERA in the first inning. If we lose this game we should consider getting a new head coach at the end of this season. It ain’t over yet but dang… continually digging out of holes sux.

Really thought we had a better ball team than this. Some serious changes need to be made this next year either in coaching or player recruitment.

Made a fist of it but starting pitching doomed us again. Been going to the bullpen too early all year. Definitely needs to be a reconsidering of recruitment/coaching in that aspect of play. I actually thought this was the best offensive lineup we’ve had in a while
Frustrating end to a Frustrating season. Hate it ended this soon for a great group of seniors. Got to hit the recruiting trail hard.
