Our expectations should be for 4 Wins, three seems realistic goal we should be able to achieve. But to get there we need to take a full step up from last year.

I bet we do get a depth chart by mid-summer. The college football yearbooks from the likes of Athlon and Phil Steele will interview Albin, and they will surely ask for one, and it will appear in their magazines.

9/5 will be hot at 3:30 when 6 is hot for early Sept
I know we always try for at least 6pm home games early in the season. I guess TV drove that… even though it’s ESPN+. That’s going to be brutal hot.

That’s a pretty solid interview. On the surface it seems like he is making some contradictory statements about depth; however his comments are really about quality versus quantity. At this time last year we just didn’t have that many players, period. Forget quality. At least we have #s now (and Albin says we will add more this summer). But quality depth is still clearly an issue (I appreciate Albin’s honesty).
Albin: I’m a little concerned about the depth. We’ve got some normal bumps and bruises that you get during spring ball, but nothing that won’t heal in four weeks. We’re concerned about some of the positions with depth. It’ll be key for us to stay as healthy as we can. We’ll have to be smart with how we practice. We’re going to have to pick and choose as this thing progresses through OTAs [organized team activities] this summer.
I am very worried about depth on both lines and edge rushers. I’m not even sure that we have American level starters at all positions, let alone quality backups.

I never thought I would be here but I might be more confident in our offense over our defense. I think Gonzales will be good, Rutledge is going to be a difference maker at RB, and our WR’s and TE’s are very good. Starting O line looks very good, if one of them goes down we’re in trouble.
The only room I feel confident in on defense is the LB room. I’m hoping Taz Williams is healthy at some point this year for our IDL
Will the lights be back up for this season?
Pretty sure they will be. We have a Friday game against Tulane that should be a night game.

Yup they will have to be for that game alone. I would hope 9/26 game would be in the evening/night time as well.
I appreciate Albin’s candor about depth. We’re going to have injuries no matter what, I am just hoping they aren’t what they were last year. I remain very concerned about our defense.
