What an ugly game. We were completely out- muscled and outplayed. Lucky to come out with a draw. Our worst match of the year.

I will be the first to omit that I know very little about soccer and this was the first Charlotte game that I have watched. I was not impressed with the play of CLT. SL seemed to control 80% of the game and were much faster.
Old conference foe Saint Louis is a soccer powerhouse and seems to always have our number. Happy to get out with a draw.
A one-time powerhouse a more apt description now. Last of 10 national championships came in 1973 with most recent College Cup in 1997.
Anyway, Bills are undefeated at home this season while a more pedestrian 1-2-1 away from STL.

They outplayed us for sure. Refs were pretty okay with how aggressive they played us tooβ¦

I was, of course, speaking without knowing but the minimum about soccer. However, there was nothing I saw in the game that would make me become a soccer fan. It was just completely boring and nothing was seen in my eyes that would want me to come back for another game. I will, however, give it another chance and catch another Charlotte game. There has to be something there to make all you soccer fans so crazy

Soccer changes when you realize a good scoring attempt is exciting even if it fails for your team and because the scoring is rare when it happens its awesome. It does take time to appreciate the constant flow though. It also helps to start watching soccer regularly with other soccer fans. The emotion is contagious.
Also college soccer has some very distinct differences from the soccer most of us watch regularly - starting with the subs.
