A-10 announces TV sked
same reason why when I was in Florida 2 weeks ago I could hear WBT.
When I was in Tampa a few years back I could pick up WBT. I also listen to the Yankees on WCBS out of NY at night from home, but can’t pick up the 9ers games.

One time driving back from the beach, I listened to an entire NFL game on WFNZ. As I got closer to Charlotte the signal started fading.

Bump… time to stir the pot again. From the Wilmington Star-News Brian Mull’s blog of today:
Here is UNCW’s TV schedule for the season, compliments of Joe Browning. I’m not sure if Time Warner is going to televise the Seahawk Sports games or if there is some conflict due to the MASN fiasco. I hope to hear from Marty Feurer of Time Warner in the next couple of days.

The A-10, a wannabe high major league with a wannabe low major TV schedule?

Sounds like a Catch-22 on the TV sked. When the A-10 had its own network, it lost mucho dinero, but had more/better coverage. Now that CSTV has the contract, the conference makes money in the 7-figure range, but has fewer games available for viewing. And from what I’ve read, we’re not the only non-BCS facing that dilemma.

BTW, I find it ā€œinterestingā€ that practically every Xavier game will be televised, but one of the few that won’t be is the one against us. Hmmm…

I hear an announcement is on the horizon that will provide the best statewide coverage in school history.

We’re finally getting the name change?!?!?

Bump... time to stir the pot again. From the Wilmington Star-News Brian Mull's blog of today:

I can’t believe this!! I have been for the past 2 hours scanning every sport channel on my Directv, then going to each individual website to check their tv scheds, hoping to find some Niner games. And I came upon this:
http://masnsports.com/2007/10/masn-to-air-eight-unc-wilmingt.html

exactly what you linked HP, unreal

also found a Niner game on Comcast at Temple Feb 24, but according to directv, I can’t purchase that channel because its out of my market. :unhappy:

I hear an announcement is on the horizon that will provide the best statewide coverage in school history.

I am sitting on the edge of my seat for this.

just NC?
just NC?
That’s what you get for moving ā€œout of stateā€.

We used too -- WFAE-FM.

Hasn’t that been the local public radio/NPR staion for like, decades?

That's what you get for moving "out of state".

what is curious about Provieder’s post… is he said best ever in the ā€œstate,ā€ not the region. there is only one channel I cannot get on my directv that worries me, and that is news14. Most of the state gets that on TWC. If we ink a deal on news14 thats fine with me, I’ll just end up at my mom and dad’s house alot. Sportssouth, Masn, etc is all on satellite. I can’t think of a channel that is only in NC.

Providers post is curious and has me anxious. I have finally tossed the rabbit ears and opted for the $10 cable. Can I be so lucky as to get the games on $10 cable?!

same here.

Please dont let it be news14!
same here.

isn’t raycon sports generally a north carolina focused media outlet?

isn't raycon sports generally a north carolina focused media outlet?

you mean ā€œraycomā€
I guess you can’t rule that out, but I am thinking its more of a ā€œchannelā€ like MASN instead of a entity like raycom or JP.

same here.

well if it is news14, I would never complain. That would be grandslam if you ask me…

It would suck for me, cause I dont get news14. I went to directv JUST BECAUSE they offer CSTV and Time Warner doesn’t. Thats all that I really care about

Seriously, as long as we can get our games on tv, and grow our product, I’ll be happy. It would suck though to have our coverage split between two providers. Directv with CSTV and Time Warner with News14.

Umm, I get CSTV on TW-Charlotte. Might be part of the digital tier, but I get it.

I have directv also, but would consider signing up for basic TW for a few months if it announced we would have a few games on there. I would like to see more Bobcats games too and all their games are on News14. I wonder what it would cost me to get the basic package for a few months.

If it turns out too expensive, I would just go to a bar and watch the road games. It would just be nice to have our games on TV period.

News14?? good lord, I hope not.

Even the Bobcats have figured out that doesn’t work. I think the Niners would do better by going back to C-SET than going to News14.

Best bet IMO is to be on one of the channels that are part of the DirecTV Sports pack.

MASN?, FSN South?, SportSouth?
