A-10 commitments for 2010-11

If it bleeds it leads…

Fordham gets first commit for new coach as 6-3 PG Branden Frazier of Brooklyn follows Pecora to Rose Hill after originally verballing to Hofstra.

In addition, Duquesne signs the 3rd recruit of its 2010 class.

One-time Vance H.S. player and Niner target Darryl Traynham has signed his NLI to play for UMass.

Also reading that 6-2 G Jordair Jett (Minneapolis, MN/Notre Dame Prep) has verballed to Saint Louis, but haven’t been able to verify. Also rumors that UConn’s 6-10 PF Ater Majok could be transferring to Saint Louis, but definitely no verification on that. Majok is from Australia and we know Majerus likes Aussies!

Still no word on whether or not St. Joe’s can seal the deal with 6-7 PF Ron Roberts, who was “purged” by new St. John’s coach Steve Lavin.

Finally, looks like Bona may have gotten a “steal” in Eli Carter.

Per Zagoria, one-time Fordham commit 6-2 G Sean Armand is following Jared Grasso to Iona.

What did he hit to have to miss the rest of the season for a concussion?
He’s a p*ssy?

What did he hit to have to miss the rest of the season for a concussion?
He’s a p*ssy?
That’s pretty harsh. The fact that he also ended up missing spring semester classes due to the headaches and aversion to bright light leads me to believe it was fairly serious. By that standard, guess Bowden, Coleman, and Dewhurst should have played through their injuries as well.

Per Rivals, 6-11 C Jerome Hunter [Buffalo, NY/Queen City Prep (NC)] ends up at Robert Morris instead of St. Joe’s. Still gets to play for a Martelli, as Phil’s son Jimmy is an assistant under Mike Rice at RMC.

St. Joe’s gets a commit from 6-3 SG Pat Swilling Jr. out of New Orleans, who led Martin Brothers H.S. to the 2010 Louisiana 5A state title. Like Brenton Butler (Fordham), father also played in NFL.

Martelli may not be done, as Hawks are also in the mix for former St. John’s signee 6-7 PF Ron Roberts and ex-BC commit 6-9 PF Papa Samba Ndao.

Per ESPN, GW gets a commit from 6-8 PF Chris Fitzgerald out of Northfield Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts.

Still trying to verify that Saint Louis has gotten a commit from 6-2 PG Jordair Jett, though looks likely with the transfer of 6-0 PG Justin Jordan.

I was being sarcastic, some people just don’t get you can post something in jest I suppose. Guess you missed the question mark, huh?

Hootie, we’re cool. I’ve had some of my remark misinterpreted as well. Anyway, keep on posting!!!

No worries…

Starting to get a little worried about Charlotte recruiting while reporting fellow A-10 schools picking up late commits for 2010 as well as early ones for 2011. I know Major & Co. are out there on the trail, but I’d like to think there are some uncommitted players who’d like to don Niner green during their collegiate career! Sort of disheartening to read about Georgia Southern getting an ESPN 93-rated PG or that St. Joe’s gets another player out of Louisiana!

Guess we were all hoping that a new coach would change the recruiting from past history. I hope that it will just take time, but we could use a couple of players next year, or we could have a long season with a short bench.

It’s official - 6-2 PG Jordair Jett signs with Saint Louis, though Billikens lose 2 more players as frosh G Justin Jordan and F Jon Smith both decide to transfer. The latter had a 15 point/8 rebound game versus the Niners this past season.

Big blow to Bona…

Zagsblog.com: Elijah Carter opens it up

Dukes get another commit - 6-9 PF Derrick Martin who played this past season with fellow-Alabamian Luke Cothron at Flora MacDonald Academy in NC.

First, Eli Carter blows up and backs out on Bona. Now Kyle Cain does likewise and bids adieu to URI. Hearing the latter could end up at Kentucky.

i take it that eli carter didnt qualify?
