2k, thanks!

BTW, while reading about Allen on ESPN.com, also see that 2012 PF Jameel Warney out of New Jersey commits to Stony Brook. Piece says he was also garnering interest from the Niners, St. Joe’s, and Iowa. Hmmm…

Flyers get another transfer in 6-7 Matt Derenbecker of LSU. Averaged 6.5 ppg last season as a frosh for the Tigers, with a high of 19 at Ole Miss after becoming a starter during SEC play. The 2-time Louisiana Gatorade POY and ESPNU Top 100 high school player chose UD over Tulane.

BTW, his LSU bio lists him as a forward, while the Dayton Daily News refers to him as a shooting guard.

Has Majerus had his annual whine fest about being in the A10 yet?
Has Majerus had his annual whine fest about being in the A10 yet?
With his recent medical issues, the death of his mother, and getting the Billikens ready for their foreign trip (playing in Canada this week), hasn’t had time to whine about the A-10.

Anyway, in other conference recruiting news, just when it looked like the Muskies might get 7-4 Sim Bhullar a year early, he’s headed west after failing to qualify at Xavier for 2011-12!

ESPN.com: 7-foot-4 Sim Bhullar to enroll at NMSU

GW picks up a couple of D.C.-area players in 6-3 combo guard Kethan Savage (Alexandria, VA) and 6-9 PF Isaiah Armwood (Baltimore). Latter will have 2 years eligibility after sitting out 2011-12.

Owls get a commit from 6-10 C Davontae Watson, who averaged 16 ppg, 18 rpg, and 10 bpg last season as a high school junior in western PA.

I feel sorry for Davontae Watson because of what Mike Thorne is going to do to him.

Two years of persistance by Coach Martelli lands St. Joe’s its first commit in 6-7 PF Isaiah Miles, who averaged 19 ppg, 13 rpg, 3 bpg and 1 spg as a junior last year. Per the recruiting blog in The Baltimore Sun, he chose the Hawks over Richmond, NC State, and South Florida, among others.

RT @AdamZagoria: 6-5, 185-pound SF Quenton DeCosey to Temple…story coming soon

Per Zagoria, picked Temple over Penn State, VT, and West Virginia.

And from this NJ hoops blog:

HOOPS HAVEN SAYS: Excellent marriage. DeCosey has a Big East-quality skill set, and he’ll have an impact for Temple right away. And the Owls give him a chance to play in a high-profile program under a top coach, and do it close to home.

2010-11 stats: 23.4 ppg, 11.3 rpg, 3.2 apg, 3.0 spg and 2.6 bpg

BTW, ESPN reports that 6-1 PG Teven Jones of A.L. Brown in Kannapolis (and prepping at Fishburne Academy in Viriginia this year) has committed to UVa. Apparently blew up at a summer camp at Guilford and caught the attention of Tony Bennett & Co., with only other other interest coming from the D-III ranks up to that point. Hmmm…

Jeff Goodman sings the praises of X recruit Jalen Reynolds while also asking “How the hell did Xavier get this kid?”.
