Time to get paid some of those Tubman’s
The bar is set so high for Alex, and he is fortunate to follow many great Steelers. Faneca was the best guard I ever watched play. There might be none greater and more deserving than Bill Nunn.
Him added to Vince Williams, a healthy Devin Bush, TJ Watt, and Alex Highsmith provides a lot of athletic, physical, playmakers at linebacker.
CBS Sports did a mock redraft of the 2020 draft, based on last season, and ended up drafting Alex Highsmith 1st round / #25 overall
clt says we have great stories to tell with Alex and Larry.
I know a Steeler fanboy did that mock draft. Dotson a #1? Jeez. Alex would probably be a #2 pick, maybe middle of 2nd. Claypool is intriguing as a #1, but there are too many wr’s in this silly mock redraft. Then again, maybe Alex would slide into a 1 because the NFL had some duds. Its crazy how few NFL qb’s never make it to Year 2, much less Year 4. Also crazy how many years results in 1 or less star nfl qb’s. Here are some duds found
1997
Notables: Jim Druckenmiller (Round 1, 49ers), Jake Plummer (Round 2, Cardinals), Danny Wuerffel (Round 4, Saints), Koy Detmer (Round 7, Eagles), Jon Kitna (undrafted, Seahawks)
2013
Notables: EJ Manuel (Round 1, Bills), Geno Smith (Round 2, Jets), Mike Glennon (Round 3, Buccaneers), Matt Barkley (Round 4, Eagles), Ryan Nassib (Round 4, Giants), Landry Jones (Round 4, Steelers)
1996
Notables: Tony Banks (Round 2, Rams), Bobby Hoying (Round 3, Eagles), Jeff Lewis (Round 4, Broncos), Danny Kanell (Round 4, Giants), Damon Huard (undrafted, Bengals), Ray Lucas (undrafted, Patriots)
2007
Notables: JaMarcus Russell (Round 1, Raiders), Brady Quinn (Round 1, Browns), Kevin Kolb (Round 2, Eagles), John Beck (Round 2, Dolphins), Drew Stanton (Round 2, Lions), Trent Edwards (Round 3, Bills), Troy Smith (Round 5, Ravens), Tyler Thigpen (Round 7, Vikings), Matt Moore (undrafted, Panthers)
And in honor of Larry and his qb Maker Bayfield, the worst of the qb drafting doodoo browns. Hang in there Larry, and you could win the afc north the next 3 years; if you didn’t play for da brauns

Seth Walder, sports analytics writer: Alex Highsmith, OLB, Steelers. After Bud Dupree tore his ACL in Week 12, Highsmith took over as a starter – a role he’ll presumably keep with Dupree likely leaving in free agency. And in his limited playing time, Highsmith shined; if we halve the qualifier, the Steelers rookie ranked seventh in pass rush win rate at edge … one spot ahead of Chase Young.
Follow-up to the ESPN piece referenced above:
Those “small achool” references kill me.
Still trying to figure out how we are a “small school” with 30k enrollment?
These people are never referring to enrollment size imo when they say small school…It’s typical G5 degradation talk.
clt says we should look at a name change
Yes, I know-----but in either case, its wrong.
