Well of course it is not the best draft class, it is because we have the 1st pick hahah. With that said I still think a team would be willing to trade for it, regardless of awesome players or not draft is still going to happen and teams are still going to do as good as they can. The draft isnt folding up because Luck stayed at Stanford.

Depends on what your needs are. If you can move up and get the “missing piece” to your offense or defense, then somebody will want to get their man and not wait and hope he falls to them. If the draft class is not that good overall, then I would think teams will be wanting to move up to get the best players out of it if the leftovers won’t be very good. A.J. Green or Bowers are instant starters for most all teams, and if I have a mid-round pick and they can make me a contender then I would make the trade.
I think the key to making a trade of the pick possible will be whether or not the NFL uses the rookie cap for this draft. If they do not, the no one will want to trade up only to have to pay the #1 pick what they would be due under existing pay structures. If the cap gets put into place for the draft, even if it’s retro-active when agreed upon after the draft, the #1 pick suddenly becomes a valuable commodity again and the Panthers phone will be ringing much more with perspective offers.
That is the key to the whole thing right there man, if a rookie cap is placed, I think we can wheel and deal. If there is not and it looks like number one overall is going to get the big payout it will be a bust, I dont see any of the guys coming out worthy of that amount of money, I am skeptical of that amount for any draftee. It should be interesting. More importantly I think the coaching structure we bring in should play a role in who we go after. Going to be alot happening between now and draft thats for sure.
