Another Observer Blunder...
Wow…

I’m really starting to develope animosity toward this paper. Before, it was just discontent, but now… now it’s becoming something more. Soon I may need to enlist myself as Over40’s apprentice.
I hope you know there’s a long waiting list.

Over40NINER is often IMITATED but never DUPLICATED.
We had a game last night that was on ESPN, yet no pictures in the Observer slideshow, truly amazing…

this is ridiculous. completely ridiculous. i can understand them putting the ciaa tournament in there. but they could have at least replaced one of the tarhole slides with something from our NATIONALLY televised game. i’m sure jackass is laughing his butt off about this. he’ll come on here next week pretending to be our buddy.

that is crap. They have the three Charlotte schools; Winthrop, Davidson, and Chapel Hill but no Charlotte. The Observer is at its old tricks again.

add to that WCU, and App St. if you want to say “regional” schools

The 49ers even made the front page of the High Point Enterprise Friday morning! And that is something I don’t ever remember occurring.

The high point enterprise, the official paper of the Charlotte 49ers?

Perhaps one day, Charlotte will have a newspaper like High Point and we’ll get to see Charlotte receive top billing with Chapel Hill #2 and Davidson/Winthrop/High Point #3.

Right now, Chapel Hill receives Top Billing, the rest of the ACC #2, Roy Williams #3, Tyler Hansborough #4, and if we’re lucky - maybe a Charlotte mention in ‘Around the A-10’.

even http://www.nineronline.com/ put pictures up. On the right side, its a kind of scrolling picture viewer thing

if you think it’s bad now imagine how much worse their coverage would be if we were good. that’s what happened in some of our better years. coverage declined as we got better.

I was most upset when a local player (Drayton) has a career night for the local team and can’t get front page in the sports section.Drayton has never got a front page story. How many times have Ivory Latta been on the front page? Yet no one cares about womens basketball?Unless its the Tarholes.

more Winthrop and Davidson, throw in some Wake, state, and SC. Oh yes, some womens basketball action of the ACC.

BUT NOOOOOOOOO NNNIIIINNNERRRRSS!!!

Oh, I haven’t forgotten.

I remember the pittance of coverage we received in the little upstart, no-name Conference USA.

That’s why I find it funny that the Observer now says that the newspaper was more excited about Charlotte when we were in big, powerful C-USA rather than the little upstart, no-name A-10. Oh, and that we should also move to the SoCon.

The disturber also promotes giving away free beautiful "beach front"property in Arizona exlusively to Niner fans with 5 year subscription.

What all so upsets me is the storys they pull of the AP that no one cares about.Todays paper had a huge picture and story about “Minnesota fights to recover”.Does anybody in Charlotte care about the Golden Gophers. Why didn’t they do a story on the best player last year Vincent Grier. He is from Charlotte.

Maybe they’re taking that “Great State of Mecklenburg” thing way to seriously…?

Does anybody in Charlotte care about the Golden Gophers?

I can only think of one person.
